I know that this is a little random, but I love the way you write. It's very unique and expressive. Edit: Also, I agree completely. Literally every rewarding pursuit in life requires sustained effort. Yet, we expect relationships to be effortless. People are delusional about love.

Taking care of your kids isn't a job. It's a non-negotiable responsibility. If you refuse to take car of your kids you don't get 'fired'. You would be arrested for neglect. You have to do it... Taking care of your home isn't a job. It's something you would have to do regardless of your family. Comparing a high paying job to housework is such a distortion of fact that it comes across as biased. The determining factor is whose job pays more.

This is still just nonsense. First, you are using “passive voice” incorrectly. Passive voice would be: “The man saw that the woman was beautiful.” “I see that this woman is beautiful” and ”This woman is beautiful” share the exact same premise. Any additional subtext would have to be conveyed verbally with the tone of your voice. Which would be impossible to do over Reddit.… Which is what we‘ve been trying to tell you….

You have to admit your comment was confusing. ..thinking someone is an aesthetically attractive person is not the same as being attracted to that person This sentence makes literally zero sense. Your post is incoherent. What exactly are you trying to say? Your comment honestly seems like it’s in bad faith. For example, your definition of “settling down” is skewed. “Settling” does not generally mean making ANY final decision/commitment. It confers a commitment to that which is less than ideal. In this way, men differ from women: men’s options will grow, women’s will shrink. Also, men and women are naturally suited to different things. A women will almost never be a more effective protect…

I thought the same until I realized men that actively go for someone significantly younger are usually trainwrecks emotionally and developmentally. You’re perspective seems tainted by some heavy bias. I doubt you’d claim women in their 30s sleeping with men in their 20s is pathological behavior. I suspect you are also rationalizing this to yourself. As an older woman, it may be a comfort to think your sexual value has not diminished, but it almost certainly has. It does for everyone. I am a man. I’m telling you, no, we absolutely can not. I’m being 100% honest with OP and all the women here, because I understand how frustrating it is when members of the opposite sex tell you HOW to date/seduce them. The “advice“ is usually generic and terrible. We don’t know why after we “leave before she wakes up” with one girl …but with another girl, all we want to do is cuddle after sexy… We don’t know why we ghost one girl after sex… …but will escalate a hookup into a relationship wi…

I love how some of the comments ignore the question and spout how women can do what she wants with whoever she wants. THANK YOU. It’s not helpful at all. It’s like listening to women giving advice to men on how to get laid. Men don‘t know how to date other men. You don‘t ask the fish how to catch fish. You ask the fishermen.

I think the criticism here is that she is unhappy either way. So instead of resigning to live as a “cat person,” the woman in question should focus on self-improvement so that she has a chance to attract the kind of man she finds desirable. It is the lack of agency that they’re making fun of and mocking.

Lmao get over yourself. This is a perfect example of the issue. Most women are not hot/attractive. That is the definition of being hot/beautiful /pretty. Nice straw man. My point is that men are not as emotionally open as women in our society. As a result, men don’t “vent just as much as women.” This is common sense. You’re resistance to this idea has nothing to do with whether or not it’s actually “true”/“accurate”. You just don’t like the way it makes you feel. Which further proves my point....

In my observation of dating-related discourse over the years, I’ve arrived at one unrelenting conclusion: Transparency is the difference between men and women. Women will consistently obfuscate and hide the true intentions of their actions (in this case, emotional venting). They need to feel like their partner’s concern/validation/skill/competence is as close to 100% genuine as possible. As a result, they’ll almost never preface the situation with: “I’m just venting…” or “I want you to do this, …

In fact, I’d argue YOUR example is irrelevant. The fact that the same number of men and women call, does not speak to the prevalence of these men in society as a whole. It simp…

You are an exception and I respect you for it. But you still aren’t getting it. Being a receptive listener has EVERYTHING to do with being in touch with your emotions. You have to identify how the other person is feeling. You have to reassure that person. You have to make that person feel ”listened to”. All of this is incredibly intimate. Men don’t ’enjoy’ being emotionally repressed... …So the fact that we very much still are, suggests that we may have a very good reason to be.… One such reas…

Bingo. The idea of reciprocity when it concerns truly listening to emotions is rarely considered by women. Women only seem to value openness/emotional vulnerability for how it benefits THEM. Either so that they can use it for emotional regulation (venting) or if it makes them feel ‘special’ that a guy trusted them enough. If men go “too far” and exhibit actual weakness and vulnerability, then all of a sudden he’s offloading on her. In reality, it is rarely out of some altruistic desire for men t…

This is the problem. Men’s lives do not revolve around the emotions of their partners. Has it never occurred to you that men have their own lives? That they aren’t particularly interested in hearing every trial and tribulation? Think about it: If your male partner vented just as much as you, would you be ok with that arrangement?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/22 05:51 PM
19

It’s more that men aren’t interested in being a soundboard for endless emotional catharsis. Women lend too much credence to their personal emotions, but won’t extend that focus and attention onto their partner’s feelings. It’s an inherently unfair dynamic that is enforced by society’s prioritization of emotional needs over physical needs, especially (and sometimes exclusively) when it comes to women. Your only job is to listen, agree and empathize. Think about how dismal this sounds. If men as…

You know exactly what they meant. Use your common sense. Society views displays of emotion as ”bold” from women, but “weak” when coming from men. If you don’t have the creativity and discipline to actually provide a counter argument, no one will blame you. Just don’t resort to nitpicking and playing dumb.

Men are not inherently abusive and being more powerful doesn’t make someone corrupt. You are basically saying “women are afraid of men, but only because men are scary and bad, duh 🙄“ It’s ridiculous reasoning.

Men are usually helping in ways that go beyond “Not being rude”. Classic example: Women do the “can you pretend to be my boyfriend/friend” thing all the time. Most men oblige. A woman would likely never do the same. In fact, you are proof that they wouldn’t even consider it.

Why would I care about a male stranger beyond me holding the door open if he’s behind me or holding the elevator for him? I mean, the callousness in your comment speaks volumes... Every human being deserves respect and consideration, even “guys you don’t know.” You’re telling you wouldn’t help a stranger beyond polite gestures? Should men reciprocate this attitude and ignore women being harassed?

That does not explain the discrepancy of fear and disgust. Those are two different responses that would be influenced by different life experiences. Furthermore, your past experiences don’t excuse prejudice or stereotypes. Women are human beings. It’s their imperative to grow/think beyond their personal experience. It would be like saying: “crossing the street when you see a black guy is ok 👍 because I was mugged by a black guy once” Doesn’t that sound stupid?

Don’t like it when women are sluts and sleep around? Don’t do it yourself. You are being naive. It is a very common fallacy that there must symmetry and complete equality with behavior. From an evolutionary perspective… There is very little to lose and everything to gain for a man to be promiscuous and There is very little to gain and everything to lose for a woman to be promiscuous That’s why the sexually reserved woman is attractive. It is why an experienced, desirable man is attractive.

This is disingenuous. “30% of women are breadwinners” is not the same as “30% of breadwinners are women” If women are roughly 50% of the “married couple” population (husband and wife), then 30% of that 50% would mean 15% of breadwinners are women. This excerpt seems to prove u/NohoTwoPointOh argument right. Men, being the breadwinners far more often, are disproportionately affected.

at the end of the day the game is still the same. Your use of term “the game“ is curious, seeing how that word describes something very specific. Your missing the key point: women differ from men in regards to attraction. For men attractive is mostly concrete. For women it fluctuates, as if filtered through the lense of your personality and confidence. The game is all the same, and if you start censorsing yourself because you think you are ugly, you are shooting yourself in the foot. In this case, it is the very fact that the guy has stopped censoring himself that makes him ‘hotter’. Because of this, ”hot guys” and “ugly guys” will always…

The biggest and most obvious consequence is that women talk and if you fuck half of your town, everyone will know. This would only happen if you were having a lot of sex within a single friend group. Meet women in whatever city/town you live in either on tinder or in person and you’ll be fine. Social pressures dictate that they keep their exploits to themselves. On the other hand, if you’re too cowardly and/or inexperienced to regularly get laid outside your friend group, then you’re doing this …

it feels good to. I would venture a guess that it “feels good“ precisely because of the positive attention it attracts, at least on a subconscious level. The nature of human behavior is that our motivations are often one step removed from the true purpose of our actions. For example, human beings don’t wake up in the morning thinking: “I have gone 8hrs without nourishment, I shall therefore eat to sustain myself.” Instead, we wake up and eat breakfast simply because it “feels good.“ I’d imagine …

Hence, ‘narcissism’. I implore you to hear me out on this because I really do have good intentions. The insinuation that they are in a position to make demands implies they themselves are among the top 10%. The reality is that most people on that sub are average, if not below average.
