Wait! Your badge number was on your badge?!? Who came up with that plan?

Former cop. You are inaccurate, as usual, and, as usual, another ad hominem attack.

You are a proudly ignorant person. I am a former police officer. I have arrested people for rape. The indoctrination you got at freshman orientation doesn’t impress me. Your idea of what constitutes rape is not based in law. Also, you can barely complete a single comment without a childish, transparent, ad hominem attack. Stop wasting everyone’s time by expressing what you think. Thinking isn’t one of your strengths.

You are boring and uncivil. Your explanation doesn’t even make sense.

Your position is that he consulted with his lawyers, crafted a clever, intricately worded admission of rape with just enough“legalese” in it to keep himself out of prison and released it to the media? Why would he do that? Why would his lawyers let him do that?

You are either a troll, don’t have basic reading comprehension skills, or don’t know how arguing works. I can’t tell.

He specifically stated that he thought it was consensual at the time. That may be true or it may not. It doesn’t matter in relation to this argument. This argument is about whether he admitted to raping her. He didn’t, as I already pointed out. Do you have a smart friend who can help you with this?

No. He said that, at the time of the incident, he thought it was consensual. He also said that, by the time he made his statement, he had realized that she did not see it that way, at the time of the incident. Have a friend who passed english class explain the difference.

Can you read? I didn’t even say he didn’t rape her. I said he didn’t admit to raping her. He didn’t.

I posted the relevant part. Post the rest if you like. I posted Colorado law, where the incident occurred. I don't like rape. I don't even like Kobe, but your interpretation of Kobe's statement was inaccurate.

No it is't. The law says: “Any actor who knowingly inflicts sexual intrusion or sexual penetration on a victim commits sexual assault if: 1(a) The actor causes submission of the victim by means of sufficient consequence reasonably calculated to cause submission against the victim’s will AND 4(a) actor causes submission of the victim through the actual application of physical force.” You can't "reasonably calculate" what s needed to cause someone to submit to rape if you think they are consenting…

You can’t rape someone and not know it at the time. If she did not indicate that she did not consent, then it isn’t rape. I know all of you middle schoolers were taught this weird affirmative consent cent garbage, but that isn’t the law.

I don’t support the death penalty for rapists because I think the rate of wrongfully conviction (and acquittal) for rape is fairly high. I think the death penalty should be reserved for cases of premeditated murder. I also think that woman’s sentence was too high. What she did was 4 counts of manslaughter or negligent homicide (however it is classified in your jurisdiction). Having no possibility of parole is not reasonable in that case.

She will say he hit or threatened her first. Even if the police don’t really believe her, they will still arrest him to de-escalate the situation and just in case she is telling the truth. They will arrest him and the process will start as described by u/thenotoriousdougie .

It is much easier for a woman who is your domestic partner to do it, though. The laws are in place and society, in general, will believe the woman in every case and apply its power against the man.

No he wouldn’t. He wasn’t defending himself. The threat was over. There is no court in the US that would hold that having milk poured on you is a justification for battery. I doubt there is even a defense attorney who would say that. Especially since he slowly got up and walked over to her and then struck her. If he had instantly lashed out as soon as he felt the milk hit him, he might get a some mitigation in his sentence, but the video shows that he thought about it, got up, approached the vic…

This is another aspect of the pussy pass. A man that wants to teach children is regarded with suspicion and close scrutiny throughout the education and hiring process to weed out pedophiles or others with an inappropriate mindset for the job. Women are not subjected to that. There are men and women that want to teach for unhealthy reasons, but a lot of the men are weeded out early on while the women are not.

A woman in my office slapped my ass and announced to the 8 or 10 women there that she wanted to see if it was as hard as it looked. A few of them chuckled. No one said anything to me or her about it. She did not go to prison. I wouldn’t want her to, either.
