Police officers need to honor human life. Their sole purpose is to protect society and uphold the law. Society includes criminals. Society includes a lashing out cunt that got shitfaced and peed her own pants. They are there to protect everyone. They do not get to retaliate, they do not get to throw a temper tantrum, they do not EVER get to break any law. Necessary force, by definition, means just enough to regain control and prevent harm. This was excessive. This is never justifiable, neither m…

In my country, resisting arrest (without harming anyone) and prison break (again, not harming other people) are not illegal. The legal argument behind it is, that the will to be free is so strong, any human will fight to keep their freedom. An intoxicated person will probably lash out, and as a police officer, you need to be prepared for an arrested person to fight for their freedom. What you are allowed to do, legally and morally, is to use just enough force to regain control over the situation…

I get that you are coming from an "an eye for an eye" perspective, but it's "an eye for an eye" and not "an eye, your firstborn, your heart on a silver platter and your head on a pike outside my front door for an eye". Cops are there to protect and serve, and he clearly showed he has no respect for human life whatsoever. He has no place on the force, and he is not the kind of man that deserves as much responsibility as cops have.

But criminals are criminals. And police officers are police officers. This guy turned from lawful to unlawful and thus, is a criminal and should be treated as one. The police is protected from legal consequences when they have to use force to do their job in some situations, but only if the force used meets the danger they were facing. A cuffed person, sitting on the ground barefoot, no matter if male or female, that tries to kick you, is a danger, but none that you need to subdue with a kick to…

If he can't handle drunk people and decides to possibly fatally injure them if they resist arrest, maybe he shouldn't be a police officer. You choose to be a cop, and annoying drunk people are part of your job description. A police officer is a man of the law, and while many criminals don't, he should have a lot more respect for a human life. Just because criminals choose to be break laws, doesn't mean you get to, too.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
