I do it either because I am inclined to or (more likely) because I have been through trauma myself and don't want anyone to experience the same. I think it shows strength of character to empathise with those who won't empathise back. It can be hard sometimes, but the best things in life are seldom easy. 1	My Experience as a Male Victim of Sexual Abuse Thanks for sharing this. I'm on the verge of tears. I'm happy to finally talk to someone else who has been through it. The bit that got to me the most was when you said... I felt monstrous, guilty etc (paraphrasing) even without feminist indoctrination.
