I'm not saying to procrastinate. You're on the right track: now's the time to make mistakes. Make them with the 18-22 year olds now. You'll win some, you'll lose some. Dude you're only 18, don't worry about it. Keep working at it, you have a lot of time. If you're in the US, you can't even go to a bar (legally) and have a drink or two to take the edge off, which makes cold approach a little easier. You're already ahead of the curve learning this stuff as a young adult, just keep at it.
