I wasn’t supportive and probably characterized as emotionally abusive too for not supporting her dreams where her dreams were ridiculous self employment “opportunities” that never managed to result in a paycheck. Meanwhile back on planet “real world”, I went to work throughout the entire relationship, was never unemployed, paid all of the bills, but that was never enough. On the other hand, there is no guarantee that this will be the case and then everybody pays the price. Though I’m slightly jealous bc at least your ex had/has a job even if they didn’t use it to help provide for the life they wanted.
