Because “She never got to have a ho phase…” You see that logic everyone in a while.

And yours. If they turn out to be halfway decent young men and have been paying attention, they will recognize what was up when they were younger and appreciate how you carried yourself despite it all.

Hahahahaha! Same! The delusion is strong with this one…. Sorry, man. I went thru the same thing. She said she wasn’t going back because he “screamed at her” about needing individual therapy to work on her issues.

Exactly… my wife is an older woman, and we’ve been headed for divorce because she wants nothing to do with sex, and thinks I shouldn’t want it either.

NYS child support can be mandated by the court up to age 26 if child is special needs.

You are gonna find out that you were wasting the next few years of your life trying to make this work. You will never be able to trust her again. It would be easier if it was a one night stand. The kids will pick up on the fact that you two are not as close as everyone thought, and it will affect them down the road. Move out of that town. Seems like just about all the women or vipers and the men either.

And how about the men who cheat, same reason wrt women, in your opinion?

Whenever I think about whether or not, I want to put myself out there in a situation I asked myself “How long am I going to be dead?” In that context, there is typically no hesitation.

Get you’re testosterone checked, if this is indeed part of the problem, increasing your juice might help solve SOME of you poor mental perspective as well as help you straighten out again. I’m not a Dr, just an experienced blockhead on Reddit, but you are too young to take injections in my (non-medical) opinion. Prolonged and constant high stress levels such as being in a crappy relationship, getting cheated on, and then going through a messy divorce will depress your body’s ability to produce t…

Try to separate your sadness from the fact she does not want to be with you anymore. It’s not easy, but treat it like a death. It is what it is. It is sad, and you can mourn the death of the relationship. And you can feel sad about it. This like all things shall pass, though it’s much easier for me to say all this, than you to actually live through it. Also, don’t beat yourself up and put too much thought into the reasons she gives for wanting to divorce. She is likely just throwing reasons out …

I think one of two things happened. 1- She decided she was done before she did any research, and reality smacked her in the mouth. 2- She was cheating and perhaps her AP wasn’t thrilled when she told him that she told you she was ready to separate and divorce? I would proceed with the divorce as quickly and calmly as possible. There’s no coming back from what she said when she initially sat you down. Do you want to lay next to her in bed (I know she’s on the couch) knowing that she feels that wa…

I agree silence is the best response. But… If you feel you must respond, I think saying something along the lines of “I don’t see any point in doing that” to your ex’s suggestion of introducing yourself to the AP or her to your new partner. Edited to add: If AP does offer a hand to shake at some point in the future, I think I’d respond with an uninterrsted “Nah, I’m good.”

Here is an idea from left field, tell her you want to go through with the divorce, and then start over, clean slate, etc. That way, all liability, financial, legal obligations other than what was determined in the divorce decree are gone. You’ll also have a place of your own, where you can go back to if things go south.

Don’t look at parts of the picture that was your marriage and think she is right. Step back take it all in, and you’ll remember the full picture. There’s two people in every relationship, and despite what one of them thinks/says, there is usually plenty of blame to go around.

And every guy here with these stories had no clue, so how do you expect a 20 something guy to figure that out in real time. An ounce of prevention (don’t get married) is worth a pound (divorce) of cure!!!

Agreed,But I was given the ultimatum, agreed, and gave one right back. Since then (will be two years in Jan 2024) I have changed, owned and addressed my shit and yet the issue that was thrown in my face as “the reason” has continued to shift and dwindle (anger issues, then to “You correct me when I relate our stories in mixed company”now). The goal posts keep shifting, and I knocked off those of substance after the first few shifts as I agreed they needed to change. Now it’s laughable. My therap…

Can you approach the ethics boards for the state entities that license mortgage loan officers and rear state agents to go after your ex and SIL? Contact their respective employers and file a complaint if you believe any of those illegal transactions were run through their offices. Also would notify the title companies involved. They are now accomplices to fraud if they were involved in any of the transactions.
