Manga/anime are like split by demographic too, like shonen for teen boys, shojo for teen girls, seinen for young adult men, josei for young adult women… Chainsaw Man is being published in a magazine that’s explicitly aimed toward teen boys and is written by a man. If this was “for women” he would’ve published it in a magazine for women.

I’m really tired of the Marxism of the left

The left is actively antagonistic to it. The right is more varied but I would guess mostly ambivalent

I think people are confusing fat distribution with muscle mass. There are outliers on both sides of the spectrum but, it’s not gonna change the fact a lot of men who train legs less often are still more likely to be stronger in their legs

I mean, not to defend a billionaire here, but she really didn’t even say anything particularly bad about him. Any of the songs suspected to be about him are just about them drifting apart and some depression/anxiety in the mix. Her last album didn’t seem to mostly even be about Joe Alwyn, some people thought that perhaps there are hints of their eventual breakup in the albums prior, but that’s all speculation. She draws from her personal life for her music as a lot of other artists do, some peop…

Nope but the naming convention you described happens mainly in the Philippines, I don’t really see it with people from Mexico

Oh yeah no, I said hispanophone and the Philippines really doesn’t speak Spanish even though they were a Spanish colony and have some loanwords. They also do not currently follow the typical Spanish naming convention that I described

Uhhh what country are you talking about? What I said is true in Spain and much of Latin America.

It’s completely cultural, different cultures have different takes on this and I feel like they make sense. In the hispanophone world, women don’t change their last names, and children receive each parents’ paternal family names. It’s not the custom in anglophone countries so it may seem odd, but I feel like it makes a lot of sense. Women taking on their husband’s last name makes sense too, although it’s easier if they marry younger and aren’t too far into a professional career or if their career…

I’m gay and I’ve always seen feminism as antagonistic and unfair to men since I was a kid (born in the 90s btw), and wasn’t aware of Men’s Rights until college when I spotted a video by Karen Straughan. I think a major reason is because the more vocally gay are very integrated in leftist views therefore feminist/queer views, therefore MRA is seen as the antithesis of that and gay dudes supporting MRA would be ostracized. There was a thread the other day in another sub actually questioning why th…

No but Grindr fuckin sucks as an app. Horrible to use Maybe the reason Grindr’s stock is doing fine is the fact that it’s riddled AF with ads and they’ve slowly locked features behind subscriptions. Like decreasing the amount of people you can see, not being able to see who’s seen you anymore. It’s so also so annoying having ads pop up almost every minute of use like, all of them taking up the whole screen and forcing you to wait like half a minute to clear through each time. I also hate that th…

I saw it because I liked Greta Gerwig’s Ladybird and Little Women, but Barbie was definitely not as funny as I was hoping it would be and overly preachy and reductive. People in general like feeling like the victim, there must be some sort of dopamine rush about feeling attacked and people don’t like talking accountability for their problems. People like self-pity and having that self-pity validated. And this is especially true for feminism and why people buy into it. That whole rant by America …

It’s so dumb that people actually believed it deserving of an Oscar, and acted as if it was sexist that it wasn’t more awarded or nominated since it was “so big.” Like other blockbuster movies don’t actually get nominated for shit and it’s on the same level as that. The themes were all over the place and the script was neither that funny or as “deep” as people act like it was.

Their existence relies on society believing this to be true, so they use propaganda to influence women into believing they’re the greatest victims in society. And there’s attention and validation received from being the victim, so it’s easy to buy into.

I’ve said before that people are stupid if they think it’s sexist Margot Robbie didn’t get nominated considering it’s other women who are getting nominated instead of her. And it’s not like big popular movies usually get nominated anyways. NFL fans blaming or harassing Taylor Swift for the attention the NFL gives her when she attends is also pretty stupid. She’s just showing up to see Travis Kelce, it’s the NFL that’s trying to make money off the craze and rope in her fans, blame them.

These people are so dense… Margot Robbie didn’t get the nomination in favor of other women… Did they actually watch the movies of the other leading ladies? Margot Robbie wasn’t that great, especially compared to her actual Oscar nominated role as Tonya Harding. These people obviously don’t pay attention to the Oscars either. A lot of the time, big franchise blockbuster movies don’t receive that many nominations outside technical categories, especially acting nominations. They’re lucky Ryan Gosli…

It’s not just men needing to speak up about abuse, a lot of it is taking men seriously when they talk about abuse. It’s easy for people to assume men can’t be abused because they have a tendency to be physically stronger, and there are people who also assume men deserve it and take the side of the woman.

The hypocrisy is so annoying. I’m not gonna ignore the fact that teenage boys probably do want to have sex with adult women. But the same can be said about teenage girls thirsting over adult men. Yet this situation would instantly get outrage if reversed. Not advocating for the reversal of statutory rape laws, but if you’re gonna have a law, be equal and fair about it. And you see this even with adult men with younger adult women even though they’re all legal adults. It’s sad that people won’t a…

I think what bothers me in particular is that there’s clear evidence of most industrialized nations not being any worse for wear for not circumcising (i.e. pretty much all of Europe) yet Americans still won’t let it go. Like I’ve heard conversations at a hospital about one nurse questioning if people are right about it being mutilation and then another provider saying they’re crazy (but he’s Jewish so he should’ve had no say) There’s absolutely no reason for it to exist this prevalently in the U…

Generally, I would probably agree. Hence the gossip and girls are drama stereotype. Don’t feel like looking up sources right now, but it’s like those studies about school boys bully physically yet school girls bully socio-emotionally through gossip.

I’m sorry that people misinterpreted where you were going with what you were saying. I think it’s absolutely true that a lot if not most men really do believe the feminist propaganda that all men are privileged and all women are oppressed to this day. It’s so ironic. Plus, they paint it like it’s a bunch of old white men trying to oppress women. It’s like, you guys do realize that there are more women in this SCOTUS overturning Roe v Wade than the one that first ruled on it, right? So many pro-life proponents are women though.

I’m curious about the bisexual rate in this infographic. It’s interesting that it lists bisexuals of both sexes as more likely to experience abuse. I wonder why, plus you can’t extrapolate the gender of the abuser for bisexuals.

Okay, this might be TMI, but as a gay dude, they really don’t. I don’t really care much about either, but over the past 6 months I’ve really had my expectations subverted. I don’t have any experience there, so obviously I can’t really make any bold claims about the UAE, but I just personally would want to avoid that place and most places in the Middle East simply because the racial and religious issues scare me. Good for them if they have gender equality in a true sense, but there are other kinds of inequalities and exploitation going on that would make me hesitant to want to visit or endorse them.

Honestly, yeah. You can’t really generalize Europeans because it’s big and they’re a bunch of different countries with different cultures (and you can make a similar comparison with the US with different states), but I definitely experienced more overtly racist things in Europe than in the US. So it’s funny to me that some Europeans act like the US is so backwards socially and that racism is only a bigger problem here than there, but I think it’s only seen as an issue here because the US actuall…

I feel like “soft bigotry” makes it sound like it’s wrong when it’s not. I feel like it’s one of the few cases where we still recognize the biological reality that there are differences between the sexes. We should definitely have the same rights and opportunities, and treat everyone with a baseline level of dignity, but it’d be ignorant to say men and women are the same in every way. The fact they’re divided by sex just allows both sexes to participate in sports with others on somewhat equal fo…

I don’t like the case because there’s just so much we don’t know yet. I understand why people are jumping to conclusions, but whether they’re innocent or guilty, everyone still deserves a fair trial first. For the sake of people who are innocent yet already convicted in the court of public opinion. A lot of things don’t make sense, but condemning him automatically is just succumbing to mob mentality shit. Like you said, it could’ve been self-defense or accidental. This case has feeling me all over the place. When I first heard about it earlier this morning from my classmates, I jumped to the conclusion that he must’ve guilty of something. Then I eventually realized I gave into the societal bias being quick to label men as guilty, and this video helped me realize it. I mean, his actions are highly suspicious just given the fact that he did not report her missing at all after so much time had passed. But there’s obviously a lot more going on than we know ri…

I’m just glad to be gay, so I don’t have to dip my toes at all into any of this weird back and forth about gender roles or whatever. It’s definitely true that many women also still hold all these traditional expectations for men while trying to be free from their own expectations. If they don’t want these household expectations placed on them, then they shouldn’t place all these occupational and financial expectation on guys. Yes! As much as many women out there try to say men don’t empathize with women, plenty of women don’t really empathize with men unless/until it directly affects them. Another example I can think of would be mothers of sons who are victims of women acting maliciously against them. I think I’ve read somewhere that there was a study that showed men usually don’t preferentially choose their own gender for things, but women do preferentially choose women at a significant rate.

I thought I was on a different subreddit (a gay sub) for a second, so I was very surprised when you started talking about the gay community and feminism. I’m also a gay guy here, and also very much in favor of Men’s Rights and against feminism/gynocentrism. Hildago is hilariously hypocritical This fine is obviously absurd, unfair, irresponsible and dangerous Perhaps that is true, but she would not be saying this if it had been mostly men hired into managerial positions instead. It’s absurd how obvious feminism has always been about gynocentrism, it’s sickening how much they pretend at being about equality. Female domination ≠ gender equality.

It’s really annoying hearing girls belittle guys in front of me and think I won’t take offense because I’m gay. As if I would relate to them saying, “Men are trash.” Like, bro, I’m a man and I love men. What part of that would I relate to? And I usually never side with them in these stories they talk about dealing with guys. I feel like being gay just reaffirms my ability to see how entitled these girls are because I’m not trying to fuck them so the halo effect doesn’t come into play.
