Exactly!!!! Thank you. I know there are toxic people all the time but I feel like men more and more frequently are getting lumpsummed into that. It’s not right.

That’s really annoying and I’m sorry y’all have to go through that. I have no visibility or really any info on anything related to this subject.. I just got to a breaking point literally so bad I had to vent and I’m sorry that I used buzzwords but that was the only way that I vaguely know to convey what I’m saying relevant to the issue (which, in itself, is a problem). I am not going to edit my original post because that’s how I feel and that’s where I’m coming from and the terminology that I us…

What brought me here is pure perspective understanding. I’m not going to go stand in an echo chamber for people to tell me I feel this way because XYZ male member of my family/friends “conditioned” me to be a slave to a particular school of thought. Honestly a lot of the feminist stuff I hear is just folks trying to make themselves feel better about being an asshole and victimizing themselves because it’s easy. That’s the exact line of reasoning I used - what if it was a male? Not so empowering, is it? Didn’t think so. So why is it okay when it’s a female? The top line blatant answer is that it’s not okay period. And using “feminism” as a reasoning to justify it is ridiculous. It’s not feminism, it’s encouraging an abusive narrative that is convenient for certain individuals.

Internalized misogyny sounds like a fancy way of saying not taking ownership and responsibility for being a jerk!

You’re 100% right - toxic masculinity is not a thing, I think that I could’ve worded it more eloquently - toxic behavior is just toxic. Male or female or whatever gender flavor of the month is. Labeling something as a group target that fits your narrative is ridiculous. The feminist narrative is just awful. And I don’t feel bad for them, and I refuse to act like it’s okay. I’m sorry that my wording came off like I was speaking from a point of that camp because I’m definitely not. And it’s not ok…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
