Because you spelled labor as labour, I assume you are from the UK. As far as the United States go, much of the working class is non-white, and therefore not in the "racist" category (I acknowledge this is similar in the UK). In fact, I'd assume that close to 30-40% anyone sub-$40-50,000 US wage is either not white or mixed race, or at least "hispanic" (our demographic classifications are kind of strange, as many hispanic people are indeed white). That's not to say that the resentment and contemp…

You are right except I do know women that are technically poor and still post the typical feminist stuff on Instagram. They kind of come from middle class backgrounds, though, and one, I suspect, gets some kind of family support, as she barely works yet somehow pays her rent.

Yep, I sometimes cross the street to avoid being seen as a "creep" and potentially posted about on social media. Not worth getting cancelled locally (I live in a small, "progressive" hip city) just because, as I walked by a woman with my head down, I was perceived somehow as a bad guy. I feel like accidentally (or intentionally because I'm trying to politely to acknowledge their human presence as I pass) making eye contact is already risking too much. I've done that before and felt like I totall…

This person's Youtube channel really sums up a lot of how I feel about what men have to deal with. It's very "boohoo, it's still worse for women", as if it's a competition. She thinks Scott Galloway bringing up how it's dangerous to have masses of single, alone frustrated men just means "have sex with men or they'll kill us". As a guy, I'm afraid of having loads of frustrated men for my own safety. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=useFg18Jg5Y&ab\_channel=MelanieHamlett

I swore off dating apps many months ago, but I recently gave Bumble a try. Holy Hell, it's actually almost worse than Tinder. The amount of women with "conservative" and/or "wants kids" or "isn't sure" about kids in their profile is insane. I live in a pretty liberal area, too. Also, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 have graduate degrees. I'm just going to start chatting women up more in person.

I don't know anything about this book, but I thought it was the opposite. Higher paid women tend not to be interested in men that make less than them. I thought this was understood on a pretty large scale. It's a bit ironic, too, considering women technically fought to, in the end, not be dependent on men. Preferring a partner of equal or more income doesn't seem empowering if both parties are self-sufficient.

I see this attitude a lot, but they all have white male friends. "Oh, not them!" God forbid they take an extra two seconds to specify rich men, people in high positions in a company, politicians, etc.

If this is the case, does this mean that it's inevitable that a fairly large portion of men will date younger women? I've been opposed to the idea, for myself, for a while. Now, though, I have been wondering if that's what will happen. I much prefer my own age, 40, and tend to gravitate towards women 3-5 years older.

It's easy to forget what was happening pre-2016/Trump. I was initially excited to see a new big wave of people that supported popular left causes. For instance, I had always been critical of policing and how their job was, increasingly, basically criminalizing everyday people. I had been a victim of it myself. I was happy to see people out in the streets. Unfortunately, the social media "echo chambers" really led to some irrational (note, not "far left" or radical left") views and attitudes beco…

I feel no pressure. I have more of a desire to be in a relationship. I haven't been in one for over 10 years, and before that I was barely in any. Just any dating experience at this point is what I'm after.

I'm starting to volunteer with invasive species removal. I like doing that. No one my age, though. Outside of meetup.com (I don't think people use that anymore), I don't know where to find such things. Facebook? I only use FB for Marketplace, with a fake name. Haven't come across anything.

Yeah, I think this is just the way it goes. It's not easy. I feel for ya. With all of that said, I am grateful for the friends that I have. I was just on the phone with my best friend/former girlfriend. I'm glad I have her to talk to. It's just that people are spread out and, like you are saying, they have their own shit going on. I wish I had a local "singles" group to get involved with. I wonder if I'd even enjoy that and the type of people in it, haha. I might not. I'd give something like tha…

True, but it's easier said than done, especially if you don't drink. I try to get out as much as possible, but going out alone is a no-go for me. It just doesn't work and I tend to dart out when I start to feel awkward and lonely. I'm 40. The scene has faded for me, people have kids, people moved far away, and friends that would maybe hang aren't local. I live in a "cool" area, too, but I simply have nothing to do and nowhere to go, and I try to keep an open mind. Making friends isn't easy when …

Yeah, as far as my lifestyle goes, I'd say I meet a lot of qualifications. I'm in shape, ride my bike every single day for at least 5 miles, unless it's too cold or raining. I've been told I'm attractive by women, have my own place (which is a HUGE accomplishment for me and increasingly rare where I live, as it's really expensive), have no debt, own multiple guitars, multiple nice bikes, work for a non-profit (dirt poor pay but I get a very discounted apartment through them), am socially conscio…

I've been wanting to talk about this for a while. It drives me nuts. Go on r/datingadvice and you'll see a lot of this. It's weird how feminism/female empowerment is so tied to career climbing and being a winner in capitalism. "But I'm doing something with myself. What are you doing to be successful in life?" ...just trying to not lose it and make it through the week. "I don't want to have to support someone. I want a partner who takes care of themself and has a future." ...I have my own apartme…
