I constantly see, and even in my own company, the senior construction workers doing fucking nothing except taking about how all the newer guys are lazy cunts and back in their day... yet the demand for productivity has sky rocketed for the newer (less than 15~ years) guys, and their dollar goes nowhere near as far. Guess one reason I stopped the development stuff was thinking what’s the point when an 8 year old these days is already a better programmer than a lot of experienced programmers. And I don’t JUST hate this job. And I’m not suicidal, but I question hard - why even live if this is it? It’s slow torture.
