This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend.Congratulations on your long list of things that people who have nothing to do with MRA did. Maybe if you actually accomplished something yourself instead of taking credit for things done by people who are completely unrelated to your movement, people wouldn't see MRM as such a joke. | /r/MensRights | 07/12/13 01:31 PM
| -1 | This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend. So you are saying that they are not in any way related to your movement then. Perhaps it would be easier for people to take your movement seriously if you took credit for things you were actually involved in, instead of trying to take the credit for things you had nothing at all to do with. | /r/MensRights | 07/12/13 01:19 PM |
This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend. From everything I've seen and the people I've asked? That didn't include the official website for Movember? Because they have a section on the website specifically about the history of Movember and it doesn't have any mention of AVFM or MRM. http://us.movember.com/about/history | /r/MensRights | 05/12/13 05:25 PM
This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend. This isn't even remotely true. Where did you even get this idea? | /r/MensRights | 05/12/13 04:59 PM
This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend.Actually, we do all of the above, but it's most often at a local, grassroot level. Why? Because feminists are busy telling everyone how horrible we are, smearing us in the press, in academia, in the media. Quotes like these are why most people think that all MRA's do is bitch about feminism. You don't give a single example of any of the things you claim MRA's do, and then spend three paragraphs whining about how mean feminists are. | /r/MensRights | 05/12/13 04:58 PM
This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend.Feminists didn't invent breast cancer awareness month, so them holding events doesn't count either. Nobody claimed they did. Someone just pointed out that MRA's don't organize anything like prostate-cancer awareness, and you replied with "Fucking Movember?" as though Movember was in any way related to MRA's. There are a number of charities and events which are organized by different feminist charities, for things like battered women's shelters, planned parenthood or cancer research, ect, but I h… | /r/MensRights | 05/12/13 04:49 PM
This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend. What is defined as an MRA? Do any of the people you mentioned actually identify themselves as MRAs? | /r/MensRights | 05/12/13 04:48 PM
This is me looking for sources and proof to show to my feminist friend. What the fuck are you talking about? Movember is widely touted by the MRA community. He said that they don't organize prostate-cancer awareness events, and he is right. MRA's didn't invent Movember, and taking part isn't remotely the same thing as organizing it. It also isn't tied to the MRA movement in any way. If some MRA's take part in an AIDs walk or a cancer charity that doesn't mean those events are organized by Men's Rights Activists either. | /r/MensRights | 05/12/13 12:49 AM
