Women would have a solid case for suffrage if they offered up a proper duty in exchange, but this was not and still is not the case. Until men are freed from the draft, women are also required to be drafted, or women are otherwise given an equivalent responsibility under the law, they do not legitimately have the right to suffrage. The concept of women's suffrage was noble, but ultimately even the first-wavers who pushed for it played dirty. Many women at that time actually argued against their own right to suffrage because men were given theirs in recognition of the fact that only men had to sign up for the draft, and they did not want to be drafted. The Democrats in the US do tend to be the party for feminism and against men's rights.
