Mate, just be careful about it. From my experiences yesterday, whoever you talk to, no matter how polite you are, be prepared for them to no longer be your friend. I've decided it's just not worth it.

I tried that. I specifically spent a good 10min wording my queries to be as calm, polite, and considerate as possible. Their response called me a " clearly very angry misogynist". I'm hesitant to say people can't change or are too far gone, but it beats me how you could get some of these people to change.

Thanks. Can I ask, are you from the UK? I am, and it's just so, so depressing at the moment. The media has blown this story up beyond all semblance of reason, there's about 10 different articles on the BBC right now looking at various aspects (including wonderful titles like "Why are men so dangerous to women?"). But you know what's worse? Social media. Not random people on Twitter. But people you know. People you thought were kind, sensible people. People you trusted and thought of as a friend.…

There is. Small actions, personal things. You don't need to shout out from the rooftops about women's issues, there are enough people doing that. Just be as kind and compassionate as you can be to everyone in your day-to-day life, that's enough.

I empathise 100%, and am feeling in a similar way, less because of high profile people but because of my friends, people I once respected and thought were very reasonable, posting the same anti-male rhetoric. I think the most sensible thing, as sad as it is, is to lay low and just try to ignore it for the next week or two... Thanks! It seems to me this sub may as well be named "male advocates that don't constantly espouse right wing political talking points" in all fairness. Separating male issues from other politics I think is the only goal here, so if you can do that I'd say anyone's welcome in my view.

As u/Deadly_Duplicator said, it's worth noting the study was fine - it made no suggestion that this difference was significant (I even remember it said something like homeschooling has affected the well being of men and women in the last lockdown). It's the headline writers at fault, and you're spot on - they're the ones with power as most people take it as gospel and agree.
