This is fascinating. I'd love to hear more about your brother's insights. The multi-layered mind games of these predators is baffling to me. It seems exhausting to be such a terrible person.

How sad is it that I had a sliver of dread that he might reach over and hit her. Anxiety aside, I'm glad she recorded this victorious moment and kicked him the hell out!

Yes, FtM, removal of breast tissue. I remember at the time recognizing the tax implications of withdrawing from my 401k early, but I wasn't really thinking of the future. He just told me how important top surgery was to him, and I happened to have the amount "available." Side note, I wish I had never let him know how much money I made, because this surgery one just one of many crises that i ended up paying for because I felt bad for him. Looking back, I should have seen that he was a taker with …

I emptied my 401k at 23 to pay for his top surgery. I still can't believe I did that, but I felt so bad for him at the time. I turned down a grad school offer because he was rejected for the same program, and didn't want him to feel bad. I regret so many financial choices I made to spare his feelings.

According to her post history, they're not even married and he refuses to propose. What in the world?! I hope she gets out as soon as possible.

Big applause to you!! I love that you're constantly assessing people and things from the perspective of a Queen. Your post reminded me of a longstanding habit of mine, which is holding onto clothes that were given to me (not necessarily as gifts, but hand me downs). I used to own and wear a lot of clothes that didn't suit me or make me feel awesome, but I kept them around because they were free. In recent months I have donated SO MANY of these items that didn't "spark joy" and it's honestly been…

I go outside and sit on the grass and do some type of meditation. Really I just close my eyes and breathe slowly and intentionally, and I imagine myself drawing up power from the earth while I take some cleansing breaths. It always makes me feel energized and clear headed. I like to do that on lunch breaks when weather allows, because I can easily spend all day inside otherwise. Other stuff might be cultivating a new, low-cost hobby like something creative with materials you already have; going …

Maybe if men weren't sucking the life out of us and creating instability in our lives, we would be more interested in sex! This reminds me of a podcast I just started listening to called Orgasmic Enlightenment (which was suggested by someone on FDS!). Every woman has the capacity for juicy, satisfying sexuality that may or may not involve a partner.

I found the post you're talking about and had to stop reading. The amount of bitterness and self-loathing was too much. I guess all that legitimately good advice is discouraging because most of them have so much to work on, so it's just easier to make fun of it. What a low value mentality. Love yourselves, dudes.

This is so true. The person I'm with seemed to have his life together until we got married and I realized he has a lot to figure out still. It hurts to feel blindsided but I'm going to have to move on. Life's too short to prop someone up while they finish becoming a whole person.

Yeah exactly, gaslighting on a societal level. A global level, really.

To answer his question, yes they literally do sometimes take years to process. A big reason why is because people like him doubt the validity of such claims and make women afraid to speak up. It causes women to question the reality of their experience. Sometimes they literally can't remember it happening due to dissociation. Rape culture is so prevalent that women may mistake an assault for a "normal" consensual act, only to realize how fucked up it was months or years later. These men are downr…

So true, and I extend this to mean/uncaring people in general. Some people just aren't the mental/emotional effort and they will never extend the same compassion to you.

It's definitely pornish and violent. It also reminds me of something I've noticed in recent years among porn consumers, especially people who watch hentai-- guys talking about hitting the cervix, or entering the cervix (that felt gross to write). Talk about zero regard for a woman's pleasure, that shit would hurt if it could actually happen.

Oh my god, I am so sorry those things happened to you and I am SO glad you are in a healthy relationship now. I used to feel prudish/slut shamey for believing that sex is a huge deal. Women should be empowered to understand their bodies and their sexuality, but the sex positivity movement has twisted it so that men are almost exclusively the ones benefiting from it. It has helped men feel even MORE entitled to our bodies.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
