False dichotomy like u/BaldieMonkey said. Porn is just a sexual outlet. It has different effects on different people and at different times. It fills the space that women either don't, won't, or can't fill.

Both are valid preferences This reflex to be fair and equal in all things is self-defeating. Everything is not this Manichaean balancing act. Some people are right, some people are wrong. If the principles that require verbalized consent are to have any meaningful social good, all parties must abide. Giving women a free pass to contradict everything just because they can't handle their side of social responsibility only enables them to become more and more dysfunctional. For the general environm…

Feel free to attempt a condescending comment about anti intellectualism or something, I dunno, let’s see what you got Your guard is way too up for this conversation. You should eat breakfast if you haven't. What’s that got to do with who a woman chooses to sleep with, date, and who she chooses NOT to date? A woman's sexual freedom of choice has absolutely nothing to do with society Women are the source of all living human beings. There are very few things more consequential to society than who w…

I’m from the UK If you're in the Western Bloc, you had an American education whether you know it or not. This perception of political ideology, the fallacies that it relies on, the stereotypes, the assumptions, the precepts. They're all American. Ok then, go on, expand on your point that dating can’t be viewed through a libertarian lens What did you mean then? What are the alternatives? Human relationships cannot be reduced to just what particular individuals voluntarily agree to between themsel…

My friend groups are composed of couples and women who are not interested in being part of a couple. In truth, I have flirtatious interactions fairly often, not super common but I can't act like it's foreign. What I encounter most often is just unserious flirting. Flirting is worthless from most women I've known because there is zero conviction behind it, the attraction comes and goes with their cycles and it's not strong enough for them to want anything. All it really tells me is that they enjo…

That American public education really does a number on people. That's not what socialism is. And the idea that the entirety of human behavior can be reduced to a binary two-way choice is just deeply ignorant.

Men are more high risk high reward seeking that's true. It's not about seeking. The determinants of men's social viability are almost entirely external. If you don't get what you need to be successful in the eyes of other people, it's a waste of finite time and resources. Lot of guys don't see a light at the end of the tunnel. The risk-seeking behavior would be to go to school anyway, not to quit before you start. But it doesn't seem logical that them picking harder education I didn't say men pi…

What do you think the reason is for women graduating more than men? Lack of stigma for engaging in lower paid work. Lack of stigma in receiving certain kinds of high-debt/low career prospect degrees. More social support, more scholarships. Women mostly have to work for themselves and their own goals. There's no external litmus that decides if it was worth it except their spending habits and sense of personal accomplishment. Men can't just study anything and get paid anything and expect to be see…

I've thought about the idea of taking my partner's last name before too. Depending on what the name is and the relationship, I'd consider the idea. But I always opt against it in the hypothetical. Seems like something that might get used against me later in a relationship.

It's the one part of the arrangement of marriage that men get to feel ownership over. Not the woman themselves, but the exchange of names. I get it a little. I've never thought too hard about it since marriage is a long way off, possibly might never happen.

But deep down this might reflect a desire by women to be part of a mans life, Just cause it sounds poetic doesn't make it true or relevant. Women taking men's names is a relic of property relations and women fully joining the families of their husbands right down to their names. If women feel like that now, it's something separate from why the practice actually exists.

I think culture is the biggest source of problems. A lot of what women are into and respond to is socialized, it comes down to how they perceive men and their place in society. So the values, attitudes, expectations women have heavily color how they view men. And what we have in the modern day is a culture that does its utmost to tear down the idea of men as something to be valued, respected, understood. The one things that's driven home to women of almost every walk of life is that men are over…

Is it really just impossible at that point, or that if I had a man and I aged into a 40 year old, he would no longer find me attractive and go hunt for a younger one? That's a very sad thought, and basically means I have an expiration date that I can't avoid changing :( Is that true to any degree? Or does the bond built help negate the aging (as long as you age well and take care of yourself)? Please share your thoughts on this: I don't think it's a given that women of any age look better or worse than those of another age. Maybe it's just the region I live in (the South) but I see on a regular basis just how much of a difference a healthy environment and resources can make or break people. There are homeless people in their 30s that look half dead. There are women in their 50s who are glowing. My world is bigger than whatever early 20 somethings that might dominate what you see on In…

If a guy feels too threatening, you feel hyper vigilant, not aroused I see your sensible point and raise you "The Height Fetish". The sheer amount of women seeking out men that are in no way a physical match for themselves, huge, multiple heads taller than them. Because most women can brute force dating until they burn out without ever feeling like it's their fault if things don't work out. Agency is outsourced to the men that fail them. For women to seek out advice, they first have to understand and admit to themselves that what they are doing is even relevant to the outcome of their dating lives. For women that do admit that, they can fall into the same spaces that men do. There are a couple Red Pill women on the sub, there's a Black Pill woman on her…

Tell me, what do such empathetic and considerate partners look like? If it's something you run into a lot, you're going to have to look at your fundamental criteria. I don't know what that is. You say you've gone for men that are opposite of what I describe, which I can only guess means something that you'd consider "shy". I don't know what the means to you or the dynamics you get into. We are not empowered to endlessly complain about every way women disappoint us. It's incredibly controversial and leads to no productive conversation. If women have a problem, men try to fix it. If men have a problem, women spit in their face and find someone else who keeps their mouth shut.

Most men know or would be eager to learn, women just choose the ones that don't care. When you go for "confident" self-assured men who think their shit doesn't stink, it's not a surprise when he treats you and what you feel like an afterthought. If the women with these problems chose more empathetic and considerate partners, they'd have a better time. But obviously, they're attracted to dismissive users based on the stories they're telling.

Your individual desires don't have the cultural force of millions of people behind them. If the majority of women were like that, you might have been able to find your guy. What one person wants is a drop in a bucket. What most people want is a social force that can't be ignored. That doesn't mean that everyone will go along with the trend, just that more will than not. All relationships need a balance in emotional support That is true. But if balance is defined as whatever makes the woman involved most comfortable, then that balance is an oxymoron. From the little article, it seems to be leaning more toward that definition. I'm all for people having limits in relationships and communicating them. But the tolerance level in many women is dysfunctionally low. You cannot build a life with a person who cares as little for you as whoever this woman who wrote this i…

Humanity does best when it pushes beyond the call of nature, not when it submits to it entirely. If female or male nature is this base and dysfunctional, it should be weeded out by whatever means necessary. This is an awful way to live. And unstable to build anything lasting with. What works in a roving band of a 100 people who are all 3rd cousins, hunting berries, and picking mammoths does not translate to a globe spanning civilization with agriculture, industrial technology and nuclear weapons…

Because women are at every step along that path picking and choosing whose traits and genes get to carry over to the next generation. They don't pick self-actualized, post-masculine men who live by their own standards and codes. They pick cookie-cutter stereotypes that don't think for themselves. Women will never go where men are if they don't want to, and they don't want to, so men have to go where women are or they will have no future. Edit: Society takes two parts to work, and when women want…

But men aren't adapting. No, you misunderstand. What women demand of men is not generally possible, especially on the higher end of things. Dropping out is an adaptation, it's an adaptation prioritizing self-preservation over endless toil to meet impossible goals. Demanding more from men on the whole promotes mediocrity and underachievement. If the race is too long, most won't run. The only ones who'll take the challenge are those who have advantage at the start that makes the race less daunting…

And not just that, but absolute rejection of men in general. A lot of women now are convinced that men (as a category of human being) are socially superfluous. The misandry is deep and there's no putting your best foot forward with a man-hater. I honestly think the only thing that could really save the whole gender relations mess is censorship. The public visibility of these ideas makes things spread farther than they would from personal experience.

It goes a long way with the right woman. Most women are not the right woman. I agree that way more guys need to just give talking to women a shot, but it's not the cure-all. There are deep problems with the culture today, most of these girls are not that easily engaged with. It's not just the guys that are the problem. And they cannot on their own become a solution. Girls have to meet them where they're at. And that's not what's happening.

How about: you choose what lifestyle you want to live. Endless permission just results in people reproducing the most psychologically underdeveloped behaviors, attitudes and expectations that people are capable of. Absolute conformity is also unhealthy and socially disruptive, but for different reasons. I think this idea is what isolates men more. You are right on this though. Everything men do to get women, if it doesn't work out, just drives a wedge further between them and women. But it can't be helped. Either those men give up on a core motivation in life or they sacrifice what they have to in terms of time and energy in order to get to their goals. If women were easier to meet and impress, the whole appeal of these ideas wouldn't have traction.

You know full well that those cases are rare and do not involve anyone that should actually be in a relationship. I say this respectfully. Edit: As a guy, if you want a worthwhile relationship, you have to have things that women see as worthwhile. Most women aren't going to put up with a man that has nothing, looks bad, and doesn't even sound good on paper.

Because norms dictate women's behavior more than anything else. If you want to be perceived as socially significant by a woman, you have to fit a mold that she is familiar with. If you want to be seen a sexually relevant, you have to fit a mold that she is attracted to. Women are attracted to archetypes, and what archetypes they're familiar with are culturally derived. The ideal is a woman that gets to know me a little and goes "I like this one, I want to keep him around." And I can build from there. I agree. Having a standard of "don't generally be a sobbing mess who cannot regularly handle life" is a fairly low standard, for example. And I think the first step is for men to make a conscious decision not to tolerate or actively make space for emotional dysfunction from women. I've been willing in the past to do that and sadly I've had to figure that out as I got older that it doesn't really help and most people will remain in those cycles until they burn out or drive other people away.

The heart of the issue is women being hypocrites. Men are bounds more willing to be gentle and considerate of their partners than women are. Most men do not expect women to be mentally well at all times, I'm not sure how a man could get through life and maintain that expectation if they did expect it. But if women on the other hand repeatedly make excuses for leaving, losing respect, losing attraction for partners, then the only solution I can see working out is mutual emotional neglect. Since w…

No, it doesn't work like that. Women being more sexually adventurous doesn't make them more sexually available. They just have less inhibitions when it comes to the relative few men they are attracted to. It's the same outcomes as it is for non-promiscuous women, just sped up without a pretense of evaluation. Even sexually permissive women are too discriminate to be considered a part of anyone's supply, if they're not already sexually involved. Especially FA, virgin men who are the most suitable for me, since we're in the same position and all. Earlier you mentioned the word looksmatch. And now you're stratifying your dating prospects. This attempt to objectively categorize people is terrible way to look at people. The most suitable men for you are men that like and appreciate you. If you can list a thousand reasons why the lonely guys don't fit that mold, then you've gotta look elsewhere. Yeah, men can be very neurotic. That's why you…

So it's okay for a man to settle for a woman but not the other way around? I know men hate this when women do it to them. Settling is a loaded term, and it means different things in different contexts. I chose my girlfriend, and I tried to treat her well while we were together. I made her my priority, I introduced her to my friends, to my family. I tried to help her in life in every way I could. I did not hide that woman. I did not cheat on that woman, never thought about it. I tried to be a goo…

Men don't go for personality so it's a lot harder This is not purely true. I have definitely been in a relationship with a woman and it was carried by her personality. She had a fat ass too, but it really wasn't the drawing point. I liked that she cared about me feeling good, it seemed like she gave a damn, she was funny, she had good taste in music, and I felt like I could be myself around her. There's a comfort factor when it comes to compatibility that's not strictly about looks. I'm not goin…

I think men need to get more comfortable in being a source of discomfort for women, within reason. Basically, engage with women in a way that you can defend to a reasonable person. The nut-cases will continue to spread their insanity, but so long as you pay attention and go for what's compatible with you, you should be able to dodge the bullets. Women need to better manage their more dysfunctional peers. Men need to be better at managing their perceptions. When you're meeting a woman, you're set…

I had to look up what that meant. Well I'm quite sorry that that's been your experience. I won't disrespect you by asking "Are you sure you're ugly?" but I'll admit the question is on my mind. I hope that you find someone that opens your life up to more possibilities.

It's called morality. It's this ancient social technology that keeps people from hating each other. Hate leads to violence and killing. It's better for everyone to keep a lid on that stuff if they can help it. Making an ass of yourself and antagonizing people for no reason has never helped anything.

I also wonder if part of that difference is due to male on male rape victims potentially being more likely to need medical treatment after the fact. But how much male-on-male rape happens in the civilian population? I'm not saying it doesn't happen but, gay people are less than 1% of the population. Not that you have to be gay to rape a man, not that a man has to be gay to be raped, just feels...like I'd need to see some numbers to think it's specifically about that. It doesn't seem like prisone…

Therapy doesn't work for problems that are present and ongoing. People don't leave happy relationships. If what makes your partner happy is feeling like their partner is the best they can get, then happiness is untenable. Not everyone is wired to bond with people for their own sake. The dating pool is full of noncommittal, transactional women who very much do not view men as individual people to value for their own sake. Women don't have thousands of dudes in their phones, ready to call up at an…

Women also have STIs and can be bad at sex. There is no problem with casual dating that is fully unique to women and doesn't also have some protective measure you can take. Plan B, IUDs, Condoms, they sort out pregnancy. After that, the ball is in your court. Because we're all risking something by meeting strangers and giving them a chance. It's not like sex is this magical thing for men either, always fun and amazing. The let them eat cake remark is because of ignorant dismissal, the quote is a…

that sex doesn't seem to have as a strong a power on women, Sex in the abstract doesn't have a lot of power on them. In practice, it does. But it has to be very good, and the longer it takes for them to scratch the itch, the more they'll lapse back into not caring about it. They have to be worked up into having a consistent appetite.

Lol, you're welcome. I'm looking at the report. This was a notable gender divide in reporting to medical services, with men more likely than women to report this type of disclosure (13% vs 3%). This part stuck out to me. But I understand. Doctors are probably one of the least judgmental spaces that I've been in personally. Mostly because even if you did something they don't approve of, you'll still be helped. So there's less reason to hold out on medically relevant details. Few indicate their pe…

So I just want women to be honest and candid, and seriously working on the work of figuring Women on the whole will probably never reach this point. Some individuals already have and have for a long time, but it's not enough. Either the bottom will fall out of the whole social order and no one will be in a position to make healthy changes, cause everything will be in chaos, not just something as limited as dating. Or things will continue as they are, with women having most of the leverage and th…

Yes, because the societal context is likewise against many women coming forth. What their families, friends, and community are like will impact them and how they go about handling those things. I know women who have been raped, and don't say anything because they go to the same church. I know some who hate their rapist with every fiber of their being and can't talk about it without being angry for the rest of the day. But likewise, never reported. My point isn't that women always report. Just th…

No data on men is going to be accurate as men are heavily disincentivized from reporting anything that happens to them. Especially if it involves harassment, assault, rape. Cause you know what happens when men aren't believed? They'll think he's the one that did it instead. It's like trying to find data for illegal abortions, you have to infer from the societal context how possible it is to get accurate information. Are the people you're studying in a position to be truthful about their experien…

I'm not going to act some over the top way just because I'm annoyed.... Again, I must tell you. You're missing the point because you're focused on yourself. These aren't leaps, they are experiences because there are more women in this world than you. You're really overexaggerating how much women are just going around accusing men of harassment for no reason It doesn't matter how common it is, the threat exists and men have to bear the consequences of women who don't have self control.

If anything, I'd feel discouraged from giving gifts for anything except Christmas or their birthday just so I don't set an expectation for it. For a second date? I'd just assume the woman would think I'm desperate and be put off by it. This seems like one of those things that women enjoy the idea of until they're faced with a real person, giving them something that they're too awkward or unimpressed by to actually appreciate. Give them less to be disappointed by, the less disappointed they will …

First. You don't have to comment on someone's body or touch them to be accused of harassment. The threshold is much lower than what you're talking about. Second. There's nothing wrong with having a problem with people you don't know commenting or approaching you, but if your strategy for handling that problem is placing restrictions on other people's behavior rather than your own, then it's best to be at least consistent. Men are not frustrated with women having boundaries. They are frustrated b…

Men don't have set peaks and valleys. It's all about life circumstances, how well you keep yourself up, how much you have, how you use it.

The red pill will probably get the average man divorced, once they're in a relationship. There's more dating advice for straight men outside of the Pills though. There are more grounded, but less codified, forms of thought for guys to tap into. Because you're right, that pill ideologies are likely to destroy relationships rather than build them.
