Is there a campus gym? Allocating 1.5 hours, three times a week, to lift / exercise shouldn't come at the cost of your studying. I would argue that it would improve it. Other then that, not becoming fat is mostly up to your diet. But managing your diet can be a hassle with the academic stress.

I think that I've finally come to terms with that my experience with my 14-year-old babysitter molesting me when I was around 9 years old has had an impact on me. It sounds like that when he airs concerns to you, he's having difficulties finding a solutions for a problem and is having the conversation with you to involve you in the problem solving mechanism. So by being passive with phrases like "I hear you", it defeats the purpose of having the conversation with you (he might as well talk to a rubber ducky instead). What he wants is for you to show that you comprehend the problem and maybe offer your perspective and ideas on it.

It seema to me that the 13/50 statistic is correlated with the 13's poverty rate, which is also correlated with inner city living. A wild proposition of mine would be to encourage and incentivise people to move away from the cities and out of the crime ridden, degenerate, "squalor and strife at the bottom" communities but that is easier said than done.
