Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to try to get the younger one to talk to me if she will. The somewhat confusing part for me is that just 2 years before we separated my daughter had told me that I should leave her mom. My older kid is somewhat neutral to the whole thing.

Actually, no. She has always complained that I didn't want sex as much as she did. I had built up so much resentment over the years of mental abuse that I just despised the thought of having sex with her. It's not that I didn't want sex, I just didn't want it with her. But I never did cheat, even though I was accused of it all the time.

I'm in the same boat. I filed a year and a half ago and still waiting on it being final. I want to date but I feel like I should wait until it's done. Also, I dread putting in the effort to get to know someone new. I'm enjoying my alone time but also feel kind of lonely. Finding a friends with benefits I think would be ideal.

I got snipped shortly after I filed for divorce. I'm too old to have an accident and be starting over with little ones.

He's actually seems to be doing pretty good so far about not racking the bill up. Probably because he knows I don't have much money to spend. We have no large assets and almost nothing in savings. I filed almost a year and a half ago and I've only spent about $4k so far. Her lawyer has been taking months to respond to anything. We are still working on trying to come to an agreement but the judge has said that if we aren't there at the next hearing, he's going to set a trial date. I'm not going t…

Art of Manliness and Order of Man are good just masculine podcasts to listen to.

Not divorced yet but filed over a year ago and separated a couple of months before that. Our 20th was a couple of days ago. I didn't acknowledge it at all, in fact I had pretty much forgot about it for most of the day. I talked to my son last night and he said she was pretty upset that I didn't acknowledge it. I figured she probably would be. She's still having a hard time accepting the divorce.

I waited 10 years longer than I should have because of threats like that. I wished I would have just sucked it up and did it the first time that I said I wanted a divorce.

I felt the same thing. The three bottles of wine and her throwing tantrums is her feeling guilty for cheating and projecting onto OP.

In my experience, when "We" need to do something, it means "You" need to do it.

I did send him an email yesterday to ask if he needed anything from me or if he had any questions for me on some info that I sent him. And to ask if he had discussed anything with her lawyer yet. I realize he is busy and may take time to get back with me. I just don't want something to come up at the last minute that I don't have time to take care of.

I don't mind if I get charged for a quick email or call, I understand that. It is a pretty simple divorce. Very few assets and no property, 2 teenagers but one just turned 18. I guess I just need to be patient. I'm really hoping this will be finalized next week.

If it's a joint account, there is no reason that you can't go to the bank and just ask for a print out of the past years worth of statements. You don't have to tell them what you need it for.

I feel you. My STBX still doesn't understand why I want a divorce. She has no interest in anything I do or with my family. But, I should go everywhere with her and she volunteers me to do things for her family without asking. Although these are things lower on my list of reasons to leave.

Yes, she is pretty upset with me. It's kind of off and on whether she wants anything to do with me. We were pretty close before I left. I think part of that is just being a teenage girl. She's also already trying to play the system, trying to get me to spend way more money on her than I normally would. A couple of years ago though, she actually asked me to leave her mother because of how she was. But since things are better now between them two I think she has changed her mind about that.

That's the way I have felt. I was trying to wait until the kids were out of school but I just couldn't fake it any longer and finally decided to leave about a month ago. I've got about 3 years until the last one is done with school.

My STBXW had major anger issues through most of our marriage. About half way she got on AD medicine and then about 2 years ago she finally started seeing a counselor. She has improved a lot but I just don't think I can get over the things that have happened in the past. I feel like an a$$hole for still leaving but I don't think I will ever be happy with her even if she became the perfect wife (which doesn't exist).

The guys in the article look happy and relaxed. The women just look like total bitches.

If he started dating her, she would start to expect free rent. Then that would defeat the purpose of having a rental property.
