Great, the Harvard Law review can start getting even more watered down with sub-par candidates than might already be. Affirmative action is such bullshit, and only ever leads to problems. This is true in Canada after I think about 2 or 3 years in most Provinces. Maybe even less. There are a few things that aren't included, property acquired before the marriage among them, but that will probably get removed at some point. We have to remain "progressive" as a society after all!

The problem is that you're comparing them to you, a known, self-admitted NOT-firefighter. That's not the comparison you need to consider. If you were motivated to be a firefighter and wanted a chance in hell at actually having a job, you would work out. You would be in shape, and you would have the training and tools required to open a secured door, just like the ladies do (I hope, and assume). It would not take you 10+ minutes in this situation.

Why on earth would someone deny someone else the right to know if their child is actually biologically theirs? Only someone engaging in an act of malice and deceit. Stopping a genetic fingerprint? If this is truly the case, and the intention, then the name should be changed as it is incredibly misleading. There could also an issue with government officials and offices interpreting laws their own way regardless of how it's written. Yes, but so many women have this attitude where if they can't get it exactly the way they want, their only option is to throw their hands up in the air, give up, and start playing the victim of oppression role. The one they've been raised to play more than likely. The idea of actually trying to work it out through communication, or trying to figure out other alternatives doesn't always occur to them. My parents were in this exact situation, and my dad "won", and I got cut. It's never really bothered me until lately, and it's only because it wasn't my choice. I really dislike the idea of it, it's ancient custom, and custom is bullshit, but it's been done to me and I just have to deal with it. Others may not share my sentiment. It's a coping mechanism I suppose. I try not to think about it, because even if I did, no one cares.
