Isn't there a significant difference between racist segregation, which was a forced segregation of a minority and less privileged demographic, and this case of a women-only-cart, which is asking for a limited safe space for voluntary segregation? It's not that they ask for all men to be confined to a few carts. At least that's how I see it differently. I know there can be a discussion between which gender you see as privileged here, but I think feeling unsafe and risking assault is not a privile…

Thank you. And I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Know that you deserve as much grace as anyone else.

Actually, everyone. I think the contrast might be higher with women as they have a stronger initial tendency to show a lot of care, while men (in my experience) show this much less. Sadly enough, I see that a lot of men in my surroundings have had trouble from the beginning with my chronic illness, I feel like they are thought to be fixers and when being confronted with a situation that is unfixable, they tend to just ignore it. Again, this is my experience and my perception.

I have a very similar background health wise and very similar experience. I'm a woman though and see it as a fact of life that people lose sympathy after a time.

I watched it, but don't remember what episode 6 was. Can you describe the scene you are referring to?

Woman here It wouldn't be a boundary I would think off myself. But you sound totally about your request. Especially you saying that if they buy the group shots, it'd be different, makes it very reasonable to me. And honestly, I immediately thought of the risk of getting drugged accepting drinks, so there's that as well. Ps. You describing your wife with so much love brought a smile on my face.

😅 you can also just ignore
/r/MensRights05/03/23 06:21 PM

Oh lord. I'm not sure if you can read. 1) It is not an invalid comparison, because no one was comparing the two instances. They were merely pointing out that they don't agree with the ARGUMENT, not the CONCLUSION 2) have you actually read what I replied on this thread? Or just picked something random from my messages? <<I don't understand why it would not be standard.>>
/r/MensRights05/03/23 06:04 PM

That's nowhere close what they said. Lol. They merely said that the argument is not a valid argument. Not that they disagree with paternity testing...
/r/MensRights05/03/23 05:19 PM
-3

Yeah. I don't agree with that argument. With that argument you could also say that government is allowed to track your every move? Put a chip in you? Put cameras everywhere? ... This is a very very slippery slope. Seeing it as a right of the father, and child, is a better argument imo
/r/MensRights05/03/23 05:16 PM
3

In Belgium it's like that, but you can fight it afterwards. But still difficult. We have a very interesting case where the king had a child out of wedlock. She had to go through all kinds of legal hoops to get a paternity test.

Woman here, my older (male) colleague asked me recently if I had heard the new Taylor swift album and told me he was obsessed with it. After my initial surprise I was really happy he opened up about it and we now have a mutual interest. Find yourself an ally
/r/MensRights21/12/22 07:19 AM

On what is your statement based though, because it's also anecdotal or based on assumptions. I literally know zero women who are following a career path just to find a rich husband, while I do know women who have stay at home husbands. I'm not denying that there might be women like this, I'm saying they aren't "many", like you said.
/r/MensRights02/12/22 04:55 PM
-2

This is such an enormous generalization, additionally it sounds extremely cultured. Btw, i have 2 colleagues who have stay at home husbands, and none the other way around
/r/MensRights02/12/22 02:17 PM

Dude, can you stop being so attacking for one second and accept that people can have opinions different from yours? There are no contradictions in my "claim", feel free to ask for clarification if you can't understand what I'm saying. Now, again, you don't speak for me. So stop putting words in my mouth. And if you are looking for an argument, please go somewhere else instead of searching for it by replying on a week old threat.

/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:43 PM

No, we are holding her responsible for a choice that she should never have to make: fear for her life or give up a baby. Again, not agreeing with her decision, but then again, I can't begin to know how it feels to be afraid for your life like that. Also, saw you name-calling earlier. So I'm done with this conversation. Have a good day.
/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:43 PM
-1

I give all people the respect of conversation without name-calling, as well as don't make assumptions of why they are somewhere. You don't know anything about me.. Sad that you just can't stay civil and have a conversation. Have a nice day
/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:40 PM

Unless you are in that situation, you don't know if there is reason for her to hide it. Again, I don't agree, at all, but I also will not have the audacity to think I know what it feels like to fear for my life.
/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:38 PM
2

Big assumptions, just because I feel like someone risking her life is worse off than the guy that doesn't know he has a child. Yeah, thanks for the name-calling, you too
/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:37 PM
-24

And you have no respect for other peoples opinion without falling back on name-calling. Very weak.
/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:36 PM
-6

I actually giggled at that. No worries, I already answered your "thought experiment" somewhere else in the threat, without any "uncomfortable feelings". My opinion is here that primary fault lies with the customs of her family, culture, ... that makes her fear for her life. Doesn't mean I agree with her withholding that information. But honestly, in that situation, I rather be him than her..
/r/MensRights31/10/22 03:35 PM

She is hiding it from everyone! I'm not saying I agree with her choice, I'm trying to say the fault here lies with the extremist views of her family, not with her

Do you hear yourself? Imagine a man has sex with a woman, she gets pregnant, but, if his family finds out he risks being beaten or suffering any of the same consequences you claim this woman risks That's exactly the thing, isn't it? In case of men it's "imagine if", while some women don't have to imagine that. It's their reality. I don't know what you are trying to achieve with your hypothetical

should the white woman be forced to abort or to have the kid on her own, not telling anybody, to avoid the punishment the indian dude might get? That's not what would happen though ..
/r/MensRights31/10/22 02:09 PM
-5

Depends. If the woman was promiscuous, has voiced she doesn't want a baby, and the guy risks death as a consequence, it sounds like the only thing to do. Even though it is still a terrible situation, there are no good solutions here..
/r/MensRights31/10/22 02:08 PM

"female privilege" --> be forced to give your child up for adoption in order to not be banished (or worse). Doesn't sound like privilege to me. Sounds like a f'd up situation all across the board

Actually, in the Netherlands there was a significant issue with girls getting blackmailed into sex trafficking in the same way. So yes. I'm sorry I even dared to ask for more information. Ffs

The question was: "what stops any random woman..." Do you really think that any random woman would falsely accuse men? Women accusing men falsely, and men getting falsely accused is such a minority

First of all, I'm not agreeing with this study. I do have some issues with how you apply logic and come to conclusions. For example, you try to debunk the statement "virgin men are more likely to be misogynistic", by saying that most of women-unfriendly behavior comes from very masculine men who aren't virgin. Those two statements dont contradict each other. It can still happen that most of the abuse comes from "machos", AND majority of "incels" are misogynic. Even though I think the study is bs…

As someone who is very familiar with rejection of non-biological tissue: yes there is 😅 Also, there have been several news stories of risks in breast implants.. don't think those are biological? Also, it's surgery, there is ALWAYS a risk involved with surgery.

I'm not implying that at all actually. The original statement was that "some medications are ineffective on women because primarily tested on men", same with dosage not adapted to women or not taking into account that women physiology can be significantly different. OP tried to negate that statement, say it isn't true. I'm merely saying that it is true, that there is plenty of evidence of it being true. To be clear, I'm not diminishing the fact that men take the primary risk in medication testin…

/r/MensRights29/09/22 09:01 PM

I'm not saying that though. I'm saying that boys would still need to be able to get a necessary medical procedure!! And not have doctors turn away. Also, worse than rape? Seriously? You are going to go there, ranking peoples experiences? Bye. You are an idiot.
/r/MensRights29/09/22 07:25 PM
-2

Because they don't allow most women to do those tests. Why? Because they can't predict the effect on child-bearing. Why? Because they don't have adequate knowledge. Oh wait, that was my initial point
/r/MensRights29/09/22 07:15 PM
-1

It's not about "a good portion", use your bloody brain. It's about that it puts doctors at risk for liability suits when there is actually a need for a circumcision and those who want it without medical need would still get it done by finding a (religious) doctor who'll do it anyway. So instead of putting funds into legislation, they are putting funds in awareness. As it's less than 25% here, sounds like they are doing something right? Now hope that it keeps decreasing. Anything else?
/r/MensRights29/09/22 07:13 PM

I wouldn't judge so easily that the benefit doesn't outweigh the risks. Mental health is a big one as well, and I can imagine it having a significant impact for (certain) men

"probably"... no they don't! That's the thing though, you talking about probably, me talking about a literal fact where if you try to look up how estrogen levels influence other endocrine systems, you come up empty. If you ask an endocrinologist that question, they come up empty. Why? Because it's not taken into account, estrogen/progesterone and so on are gynaecological specialty. So don't blab about what you don't know.

/r/MensRights29/09/22 04:14 PM

I don't know why you brought up gender mutilation, but okay then.. Where I live less than 25% of men are circumcised. They looked into legislation for that, but currently bumped into the fact that a good proportion of those are coined as "medical emergency". Some things do affect men much worse than they do women, and yet we can't even get them to have as much recognition or support as a women who had sex she didn't want to have. Just a suggestion, don't make it a competition then. Fight for you…

That's it though, it's still statistics. There is no understanding at all of how female hormonale system influences any of it. Next to that, you think that because there are articles and studies that are followed correctly, it trickles down to GPs as well? That's cute
/r/MensRights29/09/22 03:44 PM
1

I understand the push back, because this is a male sub. Yet I find it important that instead of going "male vs women", people start seeing the problem as a whole and see that things effect people cross gender on different levels. I'm not here to say that men don't have any negative impact by society, I'm saying that not ONLY men have negative impact, which is the story that I hear here a lot. All the issues mentioned in the original post aren't made up, just like all issues brought up by people …

Guess breast implants in women have been there longer due to esthetics (although here there were a lot of stories the last year about dodgy implants as well), but still happy to hear that there are (slowly) options for testicular implants as well.

I am not under the delusion that boys don't get pressured, I only spoke about women. I'm sure boys get pressured, albeit in a different way, interfering less with showable symptoms. It's less than 25% here. Including ambulant medical reasons. And yes, I still think that's too much. Unless there is a medical reason, no boy (or anyone for that matter) should be cut without a choice. Actually, they are not all related to trauma. Not sure where you get that from. /r/MensRights29/09/22 03:23 PM

I'm not ignoring that fact! Where do you see me ignoring that fact? What I'm saying is that the whole system is not okay, and needs to be better. The fact that "disposable" men are used, to mainly benefit privileged men is disgusting. Yet "women still bitch and moan", they have the right to do so!! ALL women are receiving less adequate health care because of it, and that is not something that should be accepted. The understanding of female hormonal system is so vastly inadequate it's infuriating…
/r/MensRights29/09/22 03:22 PM
-22

Risk on reproductive system might be lower in men? I'm not really sure about that. I just think there is a significant lack of understanding about the female body and that's not really okay. Your suggestion to do the trials on "women who cannot have kids" doesn't really make sense either, because they inevitably will have a vastly different hormonal structure, so how is that representative of the majority of women?
/r/MensRights29/09/22 03:18 PM
4

They definitely are! For slightly different reasons, but you are correct. All I'm advocating for is decent adequate research that also looks at, accepts and understand the differences between female and male brains (and bodies).
/r/MensRights29/09/22 03:16 PM
-5

That is such a highly assumptious remark!! Underdiagnosis happens from a very young age onwards, so societal pressure has less to do with it. The most commonly used explanation for it is that girls are learned from a young age to show very "socially acceptable" behavior, while in boys that's less the case. Actually masking the symptoms in girls even more. I'm not saying men don't have high pressure, but don't disregard one issue for another. And i don't know what the homelessness has to do with …
/r/MensRights29/09/22 03:14 PM
-5

It's not about being excluded from medical trials. It's about understanding that the male and female body might react differently. If you have 80% male test subjects, and 20% female test subjects, your data will be make centered and any deviations in women will be drown out. Even if they seperate the data, the amount of data in women is significantly less and often insufficient. It doesn't really matter what they had available then, it matters what they have available now. The dummy they now use…
/r/MensRights29/09/22 03:08 PM

Same for women though. ADHD, autism, ADD, ... all these remain vastly undiagnosed in women
/r/MensRights29/09/22 02:30 PM
11

Are you sure breast implants are covered? Because I'm pretty sure they are considered cosmetic here as well, even after a mastectomy. Edit: because this keeps getting brought up. I do not live in the US. I'm not talking about coverage in the US
/r/MensRights29/09/22 02:29 PM
-41

Not really though, it's also about millions of women not getting adequate medical care because male is the default. (Reference values, medication trials, symptom recognition, ...).
/r/MensRights29/09/22 02:28 PM

What I don't understand is why you expect feminists to fight for men, while you are complaining about feminism instead of actually taking action against what is happening in Russia..
/r/MensRights25/09/22 04:47 PM
1

Which doesn't relate conscription with feminism AT ALL. You are just yelling at feminists to distract from the real issue. Instead of focussing on crying about feminists, maybe try and rally for men's rights in Russia?
/r/MensRights25/09/22 04:46 PM
1

You are still not explaining how it is related, all you are saying is "feminists only care about air-conditioned spaces", as if it's obligatory for them to fight against male conscription.. It is not, you know why? because it has nothing to do with each other
/r/MensRights25/09/22 01:07 PM
1

But please explain why you think men are "obligated" to defend women...but women are not also "obligated" to defend men. Where have I stated that?
/r/MensRights25/09/22 12:18 AM
-1

First off, feminists fight for equal rights, forced service is not a right it's an obligation. So I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, but it doesn't make any sense to me. If I'm not mistaken, women can still join force, but not forced to? And instead of wanting everyone to be obligated to, they might rather want no one is? So again, what point are you exactly trying to make here? Why are you pointing at feminists for something they have nothing to do with
/r/MensRights25/09/22 12:16 AM
2

That is not my point though... As said, feminists fight for equal rights, not equal obligations. Which I think makes sense. That doesn't contradict that you can be against unequal obligations as well

I asked "how"
/r/MensRights25/09/22 12:10 AM

/r/MensRights24/09/22 03:24 PM

Lol. That was exactly my point you genius. This whole post is whataboutism, he points out a genuine horrible situation in Russia, and misuses it to complaint about feminists. Come on, don't be ridiculous
/r/MensRights22/09/22 09:14 AM

Do you live in Russia? "Iranian woman dies ‘after being beaten by morality police’ over hijab law" Tell me again... Don't cherry pick, one tragedy don't justifies another. It's not a competition dude
/r/MensRights21/09/22 10:54 PM

You already said it yourself, that if they count the numbers in a wrong way, they undercount the amount of men. However, that also means that there are no reliable statistics
/r/MensRights16/09/22 10:31 AM
0

There are a good portion of stay at home moms who do not actually do any of the things that you mentioned. And there's a good portion of working people that actually don't work that hard during the day either. My only point was that it's easy to judge another, and disrespecting is never the answer. But it sounds like you have something working for you, and that's all that matters
/r/MensRights15/09/22 02:16 PM
-12

Although I understand the points you are making, the opposite is true as well, there goes more work in to maintaining a household and taking care of kids than the man realizes. It is just the nature of things to underestimate the work the other person does. In BOTH cases, it is absolutely unacceptable to be toxic about it. So a man coming home and complaining, spreading negativity, and putting them down is not to be commended, at all. And neither is accepting a teenager disrespecting her father.
/r/MensRights15/09/22 12:01 PM

Exactly this. I wish OP would spend time and energy in writing out how (for example) men are oppressed as well, instead of trying to rewrite history and trying to make a point that isn't even relevant
/r/MensRights14/09/22 09:43 AM

Didn't say anything on if he was right or not, I'm not in CS, so I have no clue. I'm a woman in a male dominated field and I see the opposite happening, bit even that was not my remark. My remark was merely on the fact that the way he displays the numbers and statistics isn't how it should be done.

1) This is not how logic works. What you are saying is similar to "apple is a fruit. If it's not an apple, it's not a fruit". 2) I dont understand what you mean with the statement "boys struggle academically"
/r/MensRights29/08/22 07:27 AM

Dude, it's not about semantics, it's about calling things with the right name. If you are just picking a single case and generalizing it to benefit your own argument, you are just saying nonsense
/r/MensRights29/08/22 01:40 AM

I figured that is what he was referring too, but it doesn't justify the statement "all women", as over a fourth are male. Also, there is a huge difference between levels of education (primary school vs university), it is unjustified to extrapolate those numbers, as academics have significantly less women compared to primary schools for example.

Do you know how this came to be? I'm curious.
/r/MensRights28/08/22 09:52 PM

How are schools "all women"? That sounds like an exaggerated statement. Also, you make conclusions that I can't really follow. "If all male power damages common men, shouldn't all female power benefit men". Where is this coming from?

First off, circumcision is extremely rare where I live, with the exception of medical necessity. Second, if I'm not mistaken circumcision happens very young, not sure how much memory there is off it Thirdly, how is circumcision even relevant in this discussion?? Think there is a huuuuuuuuge difference between getting your dick cut off as a whole, or getting skinned alive, vs having a (albeit often unnecessary) medical procedure. Come on guys, you are better than this.

To be totally fair, I don't think many man have undergone the skinning and mutilation that Theon has gone through, so I don't know how it can be relatable or triggering to people.. While many women did have a sexual assault experience.

Only if the first one is considered 100% you can indeed say it's an increase of 770%. But that is still dodgy statistics, as the first number shouldn't be referenced to as 100%, because the success rate is 10% (10 out of 100 applications got a call back). The possible range of success is 0-100%
/r/MensRights12/07/22 09:29 PM
4

The math in this hurts my soul. It's not 870% more response... Male name got a 10% response rate. Female name got a 87% response rate. That's an increase of 77% (so not 870%), or an increase of 8.7 times (not %). That being said, the language used in resumes has a huge effect, I can imagine that a resume written by a male, with a female name on top will indeed score extremely well. Not saying it should, but it doesn't surprise me. There really is something extremely wrong with hiring processes.

I agree with your point that the term "equalist" is more correct. I personally consider myself a feminist as I fight for the injustice I see happening to me (a woman) and women around me. But I would also consider myself an equalist and support men's rights (hence why I follow this sub to learn more). How I see it is like this: There are some issues unique to women imo (reproductive rights, lack of credibility in health care, unsafety/sexual harassment), for which I will stand up. Some issues im…

/r/MensRights06/07/22 01:07 AM

This is exactly the reason. Google uses certain language databases, which are biased as they don't have sufficient gender neutral input. This hurts both males and females alike. You can check information on this by searching for "data gender bias"
/r/MensRights21/06/22 02:20 AM

Pro-feminist? Like translate "doctor" or boss to the male version of words in gendered languages? But "secretary" or "maid" to the female version? Google uses statistics. Simple at that. It hurts women and men alike.

Ok. 1) I didn't say your definition was "wrong", I said it was "yours". Sex happens naturally when people like each other. Maybe it hasn't happened to you before that a female liked you? Sex is typically not because a man "finds a slut" and asks for sex. Assuming that the chances are high with "the slut". And I'm stopping to react because you creep me out, not because you talk me in a corner 😅 I know a hopeless case when I see one. Thanks for the conversation though ✌️

If the social stigma of being portrait as a slut is leading to sexual harrasment, like "getting asked for sex" by people who have to opinion the woman owns them sex, because she is a "slut" anyway. Than it leads to incredibly dangerous situations that can lead to rape. As I think you might agree that rape is clearly not-okay, the environment that is created that can make the woman feel so unsafe that she has to fear for her body, is also not okay Similar to how it starts with men in the situatio…

That explains the difference between the two, but I do not understand how that proves one is "more damaging" than the other. Like said before, I leaves men at risk for retaliation and it leaves women at risk for sexual harrasment. Why are you making this into a competition where you need to say one is worse than the other? I don't get that at all. Yes they are different, I agree with that. Yet, they are both social stigmas that shouldn't be applied
/r/MensRights03/11/21 12:03 PM

I actually would call that harassment, yes. Especially if it leads to a feeling of unsafeness. And you conveniently left out the part where I talked about assault. Don't cherry pick please. Advocating for one issue, doesn't give you the right to dismiss another. The fact that men deal with any type of harassment in the situations you describe, doesn't take away from the fact that women can as well. This is not a mutually exclusive situation. I just came here to tell you the grass isn't always gr…

Hmm.. I have very very different experiences than what you describe. Women getting harrased and sexually assaulted after being slut shamed. Both should be unaccepted..
/r/MensRights02/11/21 02:20 PM
2

Both online and IRL. Can you explain to me why calling a man predatory is perceived as more damaging to you? From what I've seen, slut shaming can be quite damaging to the person as well. Probably less in the sense of social/status damage, but more on the area of personal acceptance and mental health. Both are equally unacceptable imo
/r/MensRights01/11/21 11:32 PM

I definitely agree that there is a trend of applauding women behavior, that would be frowned upon when it would be men showing the behavior (e.g. being sexually assertive). I however still have the impression that slut shaming is still waaaaaay more common then applauding assertive behavior. What is your impression there?

Looking forward to see something finally get on the market for male birth control. Not only will it hand some of the power back to males (although condoms already do that), but also gives women the opportunity to go off hormonal birth control, which are in most cases a terrible option.

/r/MensRights24/07/21 03:00 AM

These terms reflect certain realities that are existing in the world.. The terms are not the issue here. Removing a word from a dictionary will not remove the reality.. There are issues with patriarchy, with male privilege and with toxic masculinity.. just like there are issue with female privilege.. Blaming feminism for "inventing" patriarchy is just ridiculous imo. However, I do agree that these terms are not to be used as weapons.

Why is that the fault of the women shelters though? You don't have to attack one to get funding for the other? Fight your own battle, focus on men's shelters. Yes, I indeed honestly don't get that.
/r/MensRights23/07/21 02:20 PM

No, I don't think so. For example, I can be an activist for panda's in the wild, doesn't mean I don't care about tigers. Being an activist for one specific cause (e.g. female rights), doesn't mean you are against another cause (e.g. male rights), or the other way around. What you are saying is implying that MRA are by nature also all not egalitarian?

I'm not sure if they really dismiss issues that men face. It might be, like I said, that the focus is different. For example: someone advocating for child care, also doesn't look at issues with elderly. It's not that they don't care or dismiss them, it's just what your focus is on.
