Ex Wives usually do better in the short term. But when all is said and done, she's broke and begging for money. The exh always does well in the long run.

With that said, do not get heavily involved with a rebound. Too early.

stbx or ex doesn't get that benefit any longer. You aren't obliged or obligated to help her in any way less children.

What I am curious about is that she uses a dating app. If she has all that going for her then she should be able to find someone without the use of app's. Hmmm! Just a thought.

Child Protective Services! Schedule an interview with them and brief them on everything you stated here. Start the ball rolling and get it on record.

Save all those conversations for your lawyer. She will try to run you through the ringer, but if you show evidence of her prior planning it may not go well for her during the divorce. At least you won't be paying her for the rest of your life.

Did you ask her the name of her boyfriend? Cuz nothin here makes any other sense that that.
/r/Divorce_Men22/01/23 11:55 AM
2

Before you start spending the big bucks on a PI, you might request the police do a welfare check. Based on your ex's reluctance to give his name and your children feel uncomfortable around the douche, there is a very good chance of the police stopping by. Besides, it won't cost you anything. Seems to me there might be something your wife doesn't want you to know about said "douche". Could be a convicted felon. I think your lawyer gave you some bad advice.
/r/Divorce_Men15/01/23 12:31 PM

So she says. She can easily call AP later. Time to go NC except for the children only.

Mediation is between you and your STBXW. Tell her you will request he be excluded from the mediation. Let your lawyer know what her plans are and insist that the POS be excluded from any and all of the divorce proceedings. Good luck.

/r/Divorce_Men15/11/22 12:31 PM

You are not wrong and totally within the custody agreement. Looks to me as if your ex is trying to shove you out and insert POS bf in your place. Stay strong, stay steady, and stay the course. Tell your wife if she wants to have breakfast then it's without the POS bf. Just the three of you only.
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/22 04:37 PM

The longer you wait to leave, the harder it's going to be. Worry about the good times later. I can tell you from experience that it gets better, much better. Could be the reason you have a dead bedroom is that she is getting it elsewhere. If you decide to divorce, use a mediator, as you both don't have many assets to declare. Good luck!

We've been warned for many years of eastern European and Russian women. Time your dad changed lawyers, or do a few more consults with other lawyers before making any more decisions on divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men29/08/22 12:04 PM
1

Report that lawyer to your states bar association.
/r/Divorce_Men27/08/22 05:19 AM

The only way I can see is focus on yourself and take it one day at a time. Go totally NC except for the obvious communications such as lawyer and children. Sorry to see you are going through this, it sucks. My ex did the same after 22 years of marriage. It was painful for sure, but I survived. The jerks are still together, but fight all the time. My children told the ex not to bring him around for all activities. She is effectively banned from all of her grand children's activities. Karma!!!!!! …

Which are you worried about the most? The drinking or your retirement? Seriously, try to get her to start the 12 step program. She may relapse several times, but keep encouraging her to continue the program. Your wife is the only one who can stop. As far as your military retirement is concerned, she is entitled to half of the number of years you are married to her. If you divorce at 10 years she gets half for only that 10 year period. Talk to JAG as they should be able to help you out on that.

Get your lawyer to file a separate defamation lawsuit against her. Apparently, she has already gone on record so she owns it now.
/r/Divorce_Men30/07/22 09:50 PM

This is a conversation you need to have with your girlfriend. Present it all just like you did here in this post. She'll appreciate you for it.
/r/Divorce_Men23/07/22 03:30 PM
1

Check to see if there is a police report for the time you called the cops on her for abuse. Just because you didn't press charges doesn't mean there isn't a report.
/r/Divorce_Men20/07/22 12:59 AM
1

Let her be the one to file first. If you had a good year or years that's to your detriment in divorce. Best to document all assets (everything including house cars etc), and it couldn't hurt to check for an OM. Consult a lawyer, but don't file. Personally, I wouldn't deactivate because the system usually looks back a predetermined number of years so quitting now won't do you any good. Divorce is a bitch! Good luck! G

YellowJacket is another in a long list of internet trolls. You see them on all social media. If you respond to it's crap you let it take control of the narrative. Me, I just ignore the stupid fucks.

Yes, divorce is war. Be your own general!
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/22 04:51 AM
1

Tell your wife to pound sand! Check with your state as I've heard that 5 years back is becoming standard for divorce. If she wants the info, make her and her attorney do the leg work. Seems to me that she wants to extract as much money out of you as she can. What does your attorney say? Hope this helps, and good luck.
/r/Divorce_Men13/07/22 02:43 PM
3

In my opinion, it's a bluff. Also, you haven't given enough information such as children, financial situation etc. If it were me, I'd have her served. She is trying to take control of the situation and narrative. Could be she has plans in the works and by you having her served, it would throw of her timeline. Best of luck and hope to see an update.
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/22 12:12 PM

You might consider asking Child Protective Service to do a welfare check on the residence. Married huh. Inform his wife that he is shacking up with your ex.
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/22 03:40 PM

If you are in the US, have a Sheriffs Deputy present when you serve her......Then haul ass on out of there. Good luck!

What is the reason for divorce?
/r/Divorce_Men06/07/22 03:14 PM

I fixed my marriage by loosing 125 lbs. I divorced my wife!
/r/Divorce_Men21/06/22 11:01 AM

To be honest, that is one huge red flag. The real question is what do YOU want? I won't allow it.
/r/Divorce_Men20/06/22 09:20 PM
2

"She attempted to talk to me about a reconciliation and I just could not do it!" For me, it should have read: She attempted to talk to me about a reconciliation and I said "NO EFFING WAY". She see's you as her Plan B! Check with a lawyer and see if you can include AP in the divorce petition. If so, lover boy will most likely cut-a-chogey out of there. You are at war man, don't let her out general you. Good luck!
/r/Divorce_Men20/06/22 03:12 PM
3

Record all conversations w/bitch Call CPS and request they do a welfare check of home. Notify police of bf alcohol and drug use/abuse in home, and threats by wife. If she is running her mouth by phone then tell her to contact you only in person or by social media. That way you have a record of the conversations.

First off, who moved those stocks into a shared account? Your wife has no legal rights to inherited stocks, properties, or monies unless you specifically authorize in writing. You either didn't provide enough info her or something is fishy.
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/22 02:47 PM
2

You handled the situation very well.
/r/Divorce_Men11/06/22 01:33 PM
3

Not enough to go on. Did this happen to you? Are you male or female? Or, are you just curious?
/r/Divorce_Men11/06/22 01:29 PM
1

Personally, I think she is trying to pipe smoke up your ass. But then again there are other variables such as, are you both working, who has the larger paycheck. Is there a trust or inheritance involved etc. If you don't have one as yet, get a good lawyer. Your lawyer will be much better equipped to help you. Good luck.
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/22 06:04 PM

You see and hear about so many cases where mommy dearest tries to eliminate the children from their father life. Patience is definitely a virtue. They, your children, are already seeing past her BS and opening up more. Bitches be crazy!
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/22 04:05 PM

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but did you think of getting a paternity test (DNA) before you sign the birth certificate. I know the courts make the assumption that the husband is the father, but it good to make sure.

Get the fuck out of Dodge. Go back to your family. If you don't have the money to fly back to the states then ask your family for the fare. There are two songs that come to mind here and those are: "50 ways to leave your lover" by Paul Simon and "Whats live got to do with it" by Tina Turner.
/r/Divorce_Men30/05/22 01:24 PM

Need a lot more information here. Children, length of marriage, financials, etc. She is using you. Stop the boo hoo and feeling sorry for yourself and go proactive. You are just a source of income for her and she needs you to continue the lifestyle she has become accustomed to. Sit her down give the divorce talk using mediation rather than a full blown divorce complete with lawyers and judge etc. Big thing here is to give in detail, a full account as stated above. She is using you.
/r/Divorce_Men29/05/22 02:29 PM

This whole thing sounds fishy!
/r/Divorce_Men27/05/22 11:31 PM

Stay in contact with your children even if it's text, email, facebook or other means. Cards and gifts for holidays and birthdays. Your wife is the one that chose to end the marriage and you are not at fault in any way. She'll get Karma in the end.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I suspect that she wasn't doing well financially when you met her. My guess is that she was really looking for a stable home and you provided that for he. Was she married before? If so, what was the reason for her divorce? She wanted you to put a baby in it because she could hold your feet to the fire. Sorry dude, but she was using you for a stable life and has no intention of staying doing the happily ever after with you. Get out now while you can!
/r/Divorce_Men26/05/22 01:01 PM

I agree with all 8, especially #8. My brother went for the jugular during the divorce and came out of it in decent shape. I think the divorce laws here in the states encourages women to divorce. If you stick to your guns, you won't get taken to the cleaners. 24cce57a...I hear ya man.
