All good brother. Its an elliptical just innately stupid looking cardio not much you can do but play it up or ignore it (as you did) if you go the confidence look up Terry Crewes classic training clip from that tv show (someone help cant recall the name) and just act like you imagine Terry would, easy way to get some laughs in yourself regardless of spectators.

What exercise were you doing that was comical? How you responded is fine, personally I would've gone full OTT trying to fish for more laughter but I don't really care what people think of me, the actions they took is a reflection of them not of you.

Meetups don't seem to be very common, in my area. I am planning on restarting my gym routine and doing martial arts this year as well would they count?. Also what about sports I thought about playing footy but I always feel like they have established groups, and I don't know how to fit in to that atmosphere, at least in terms of making more meaningful friendships.
