I’d have the papers already & have an exit route for you & the kids.

I kept them for a year or so, then as I worked on myself & moving on. I deleted them, felt that weight leave me immediately.

I wholeheartedly agree. When my ex & I separated & then divorced, she looked like the good one. She took half the savings, checking & my cat. Then said bye. No one knows she cheated on me during the last year of our marriage but she’s proudly portraying the good ex wife.

Do not, I repeat, do not date until you are emotionally & mentally healed & stable. You are obviously not ready for dating. Go get therapy my guy.

Fucking Cat Stealer Bc she literally stole my cat, didn’t give him back. I hope she steps on wet throw up every morning.

You need to cut off all or any communication with her. That includes her email on your iPad or anything showing her day to day activities. You’re only going to hurt yourself further by watching her every moves. Trust me!

She’s been checked out prior to the divorce talk my guy.

Nothing to be sorry about, I came out better & I’m happy where I’m at now.

To fully heal & feel better about myself, I’d say a little over 2 years. Just getting back into the dating scene & taking it slowly.

She ruined me emotionally & mentally, but I was able to bounce back stronger. It will take time, sweat & tears. Just keep your head up dude, we all have been through it.

Dude, fight for that house. Make her move out.

It will get better. You have to heal yourself first, it will take time. I was there myself, took almost 2 years. Find a new hobby, make some new friends & just keep working on it every day. Everyone heals differently, do what it takes man.

Did you read the first line in his post? Fuck you for bringing down his vulnerability & along with men’s mental health you troglodyte.

I work out of state, so when I’d come home for my time off. There was ALWAYS a new house rule. I’d get scolded bc I’d break that rule or we’d get into little arguments about a new rule I was breaking. Fucking annoying. Now, I ain’t got shit to worry about.

No, my ew never apologized for what she did. She’s playing the whole innocent to everyone & they’re taking the bait. Just focus on yourself homie. Take care of yourself first & no one else.

Idk, I continue with therapy now. Even after a year, it still helps me. I advocate for it when people ask me about my post divorce situation.

I’d swim out to her, push her further down like she did to me at my lowest point in my life. Then swim back & continue with my life.

I just hide the ones on my phone, untag myself in any posts that I come across & have blocked her on all social apps. That way I don’t see her if I don’t have too.

Bc she was cheating on me, manifesting this guy to be with her while I worked my ass off out of state so she could live comfortably.

Her planning of our trips. She’d ask me what I’d like to do, things I’d want to see, foods I’d want to eat. Then bam, a few weeks later she’d have everything planned out in an itinerary. Also, when I’d come home from my work hitches, she was always waiting on the porch for me. That stopped in the last year of our marriage.

My inlaws completely stopped talking to me & my kids(they’re from a previous relationship) as soon as we told them that our relationship was over. I quickly cut them out after 4-5 months, they were shocked(lol). My parents stayed the same, they cut out my EW almost immediately as well when I told them the real reasons why. They’ve been supportive throughout the whole process.

You just have to do it man honestly. I sat every night after work crying about what can I do to get her back. Once I realized that wasn’t going to happen, I force myself to change. My #1 reason was for my kids. The rest just followed along the way & with continued self help & therapy, I was able to get where I’m currently at.

Either deactivate or delete all social apps for a minimum of one year. Seek therapy, work on bringing yourself to a place of happiness. Start journaling your feelings, listen to new music & find a new hobby. If you don’t take care of yourself first, this process will only take longer. Do the recovery for YOU & YOU only. Not for her, not for anyone else.

I don’t fuck with drunk drivers. I’d call the cops on her in a heartbeat. She’s putting your kids at risk & somehow you haven’t told the authorities.

For me it did. It’s been a year since I started & it has changed me forever. I knew I needed it & it took a divorce for me to go. I’m thankful for my therapist & how much he has helped me grow emotionally & mentally. I see things very differently now. But, you have got to want to make the steps to do it. Raised in a catholic Mexican house where men are not allowed to open up. So I held everything in for 41 years & that did no good. Keep in mind though that you may have to go through several ther…

After a year of separation & divorce, I don’t think about her. With the help of therapy, work & life itself, I’ve managed to work on forgetting her. I also stepped away from social apps that constantly reminded me of her especially since we were together for 12 years. Work on yourself mentally & emotionally, physically if that helps too. It was a long process & I’m still going through it right now. It will take time but you gotta put in the time.

Stay in the house & don’t make any decisions until a lawyer is involved. Once you move out, she’ll use that against you.

I work out of state & my work provides housing for me.(free) On my off time, I either stay at a hotel/Airbnb/vrbo or friends place & visit my kids as much as I can. I don’t have rent anymore, I have a truck/insurance & phone bill as my overhead. I make 6 figures at work, so I save a shit ton & am making smarter financial decisions while I can.

Yup, my stbxw. Red flags came in like a vulture for dead road side food. I questioned it, she made me feel guilty for even mentioning it. Then I looked through her messages & all my instincts were correct. To this day, she said she knows what she did was wrong but won’t apologize. Lol

Boundaries that he had no problem dming her first? Telling your gf she can’t be posting pics of herself doing her job is beyond boundary settings. That’s control!

I can’t answer that for you as I don’t care. I stay away from right/conservative subs bc I don’t agree with it. Simple. The downvotes are funny.

I started the grey rock method with my stbxw. I was helping with rent/bills until our lease was up.(Jan-Aug) but at the beginning of June I told her I was done. She asked if I could send money & I said no. If I can’t live in my own house & use my internet etc etc, then I don’t need to be paying.

Honestly, it’s all about you & only you. In order to help others & your kids, you need to take care of yourself first. Do what you want to do, not what others tell you to do. My therapist told me this & it was like a weight being lifted.

My stbxw was the one who wanted the divorce back in Feb. I have been the one to force everything since. The paperwork, splitting of the finances etc etc. She kept pushing it off until I finally got fed up.

I’m coming out a better person, I don’t want to change who I am becoming now. She was my best friend for 12yrs & I don’t regret that. We made great memories, shared wonderful stories & life experiences. It’s time to start the next chapter in my life, one that I’m controlling 100% of the way.

My daughter(16) told my stbxw(stepmom) that she doesn’t want her reaching out or contacting her. But I’m not suppose to know this, so I’m just waiting for one of them to tell me. If they don’t, I’ll just keep on with my days like normal.

I have my wedding date in Roman numerals & the number 8 tattooed on me. Tribute that shit is what a good friend of mine says. Lol

Yes, together for 12 & married for 8. As soon as she wanted the divorce, it was an immediate change. I was finally able to see her true colors at the end & how I was treated in the last year of our marriage.

You do you man, do what makes you happy. Everyone is different but I don’t see where it says on paper that you have to wait a year to date.

I fought this battle for a few months, but I eventually focused on why she wanted the divorce in the first place. She wanted her AP more than me. It has been easier as the time goes on, enough for me to date again. My energy is on me & no one else now.

I’ll be on this boat. My kids are from a previous relationship, so nothing else holding me down. We split all the financials down the middle, she’s keeping the house & everything inside. I’m putting my kids’ things in storage along with what little things I have. But that’s it, that’s my life from the past 12yrs with her. I work out of state & get housing provided by work, I stay at a hotel during my time off while visiting my kids. I’m a nomad currently. I like it.

Stbxw & me contribute to our joint account for all bills still under both our names. We each have our own personal/savings accounts now. Our divorce is going amicable but in the off chance anything changes, we’ve both have been putting memos to the deposits/transfers for what they are for.

It wasn’t easy, I aches for the first few months & every once in a while I cry for her. But at this point, my cries are for the happy moments we shared, the memories we got to make & the time I spent with her. I know it’s going to take a long time to fully get over what I lost. I can’t control anything that she doesn’t want. With the help of therapy, journaling & working out, I’ve been able to jump those hurdles. It’s going to be a long race but I keep jumping. I’ll fall, but you have to pick yo…

Post 5 months since separation, still have all photos of us. I don’t go scrolling through them anymore & whatever pops up on fb from memories I just smile as we were both happy during that moment. Idk what I’m going to do with the photos, but I’ll cherish the memories we made together.

I picked up my guitar and started to play again. Learned a couple of songs & just played until my emotions were dry. Did it again the next day, and the next, and the next… until I started to cry less & less. Going on 5 months since separation(divorce papers started) & I haven’t cried in 3wks. You’ll get there homie, it will just take time. You got this.

I could sleep but I was depressed when I was awake. So in return, that made me super fucking tired throughout the day. I coped with bringing out my guitar & playing again. I started to journal & write my music thoughts in my hardcover booklet.

That 180° happened for me today. We mutually agreed to make the divorce as simple as possible. But this morning it went to shit. Now she’s seeing a side of me that is shocking to her. She tried to apologize for her choice of words & action but I firmly said no. Something she is not used to. I’m sticking with my guns & it’s pissing her off. I did not cuss, I did not threaten her in any way. She slowly dug this hole & I don’t want to return to her world. I’ll gladly start a new journey on the othe…

I take 2wks off from work every 5-7wks. In those weeks since my separation, I’ve spent time with my kids or my parents. I’m planning on a solo vacation later this year so I can just be by myself & refocus on me.

Legally, a room needs to be provided for your children so they can have privacy. That’s the way it is for WA state. You have court orders that both need to follow. She can create all she wants but unless a judge orders them, you continue with your plan. Any time she doesn’t follow them, document everything. Via text, email or contact with your lawyer so there’s a paper trail.
