3	Respect In Michigan at least, where I’ve lived, a lot of jobs out there pay $15-20 an hour or more starting off without a degree. Warehouses and construction jobs are a couple of occupations that come to mind from personal experience I think what you’re describing is more related to rural settings than anything else, because in a densely populated area the cost of living is usually higher.
