By the time it got there...he can't have been going for surprise, what reaction could even be possible to that?

Woah. That was wonderful! Thank you for sharing that! "Let me build myself smaller than you" Because that's easier for them than growing.

That I can do, but my husband is mid-value on a good day. My level up only leaves him further in the dust. Frustrating.

This really opened my eyes to the fact that I need to step my game up. Not for me (it's too late) but for my daughter. I need to position her so that she can have a partner who is worthy of her.

Oh I love those guys! They try lots of stuff that is standard for/exclusive to women and it's hilarious!

'But he's so hot!' Is there a level of hotness that would make you kinda...soft pick me lean? No matter how boss level you get does that threshold still exist?

You can ask but I don't think you'll ever see that money again this side of suing for it.

If I was in your position, knowing what I know now, I'd pick grad school over a man with the "potential" to be better than he is now (he's mediocre at best). Invest in yourself. You can still creat art, and go to grad school, and feel good about helping your family. There is a clear "right" choice and you already knew what it was without us telling you. We're all rooting for you and your level up to come.

Thank you. He's a good dad, but kinda crap as a husband. I'm going back to school so I can make enough to survive outside of this marriage.

Right after birth it was easier to have my husband around. He could hand me stuff when I was "trapped" under the baby. It also helped me feel less isolated and lonely. He made my adjustment easier when he was around. He was the kind that would change diapers for me and all. If he'd been lazy about it and treated it like a vacation for him... I would feel differently about what Finland is doing with parental leave.

I'm giving blood today. I think that's all I have planned. I gave my husband his gift yesterday and he offered to pay me back half the cost of it and share as my gift.

My husband usually works on valentine's day so last year I had pizza and wings delivered to his work for lunch. It was just the right kind of...cheesy

My deal brakers: •anal (so many reasons, but no) •poor hygiene (I just can't live with/near/ bang that mess) •lies (I may not like the truth but I will not be lied to) •lack of communication (If a partner won't talk/work through a problem with me where can that relationship really go?) •double standards (Who tf is he to judge me? Straighten yourself out first then you can tell me how to live)

"I only hang out with friends" deflection perfection! "Unless you're asking me on a date" excellent and precise! Denied what you don't want, defined what you do want! That response is gold plated!

Thank you. It wasn't violent or anything and I did end up giving up the fight weak as it was. What do I even call that? I just tried not to think about it and move on. I haven't talked about it irl...I think ever. I don't know what to call what happened so I don't know how to...I guess unpack it and fix it.

If he wants to do anal so bad she should get a strap on and let him see what it's like to be on the receiving end of that!

1st date we went off mudding in his truck @ night. Stop and get to fooling around. "It slipped". I forgive and proceed. It "slipps" again...and again no matter how many times I "corrected" his aim. Eventually I just gave up and let him finish. There was no 2nd date. I don't think of it often and I've never talked to my husband about it. edit: I was 19 when that happened Current husband as one of the terms of our marriage: buttstuff is grounds for divorce. Because during my Pickmeisha phase I married an unlicensed man-child with "potential" because I figured "doesn't beat me or drink too much" was winning. That little over achiever didn't even have a drug problem (at the time).

"You husband lets you cut your hair that short?" From a stylist at a Super Cuts. Like ??? I'm grown? When he wants to wash and style this much hair he can grow his out. "Lets" me nothing. Meanwhile this woman wasn't allowed to get herself an angled pixie cut. I genuinely don't understand.

I thought of marriage in the context of the 80's and AIDs: who would I not want kept away from my bedside? Totally marry your bestfriend! Sex is not the defining characteristic of a long term alliance.

Personal story of Mrs T and her eventual divorce Years ago I met a woman who didn't have a job and would never have kids. She didn't like sex in any form and her personality wasn't great. She didn't persue higher education. She was, by every metric I can think of a LVW. She stayed at home and ran through the money her husband made at his very good paying job. His job that had him out of the country fairly often. Her boyfriend or rather boyfriendS helped her burn through so much of what he made. …

Get a restraining order. Forgive yourself because you learned. You learned from your fear. You learned from your anger. You learned from your pain. Take those lessons. Distill the wisdom from your experience. You know to trust your gut now huh? We both know you deserve better. You won't settle for less again will you? Do you think you will ever put a man before yourself again? You are/were young, forgive, learn, grow. I'm so sorry for what happened to you.

I was a Pickmeisha. I was owned by a single father. I say owned rather than raised because he didn't raise me. He left me with...well anyone who wouldn't charge him too much. Most of whom he labeled as "man haters" when really they were just confident women living their lives. He taught me they were wrong and selfish. Maybe they weren't good lives but it was their life. Except for one who was a single mom with an adult son who she treated like a king (there's some stories) It was normal to see h…

He straight says he could see her as the perfect stepmom to his kids. I wonder how long he spent on that fantasy. Like when he was getting custody of his kids was he imagining their life together? In her mid 30s, if she wanted kids she probably would have had them.

Right? Either right off the bat or the long game like this "friendship". It seems like they always eventually catch feels and throw a tantrum when women don't play along.

How much of the crap that rolls out of men's mouths begins and ends with what they want? He clearly doesn't care what she wants, or forbid, needs. Who would want a relationship with someone who doesn't care about you?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/19 07:55 PM

Does that make her automatically "irrationally angry"? She tried to preserve a decades long friendship. She acknowledged his feelings, expressed a lack of reciprocity, and tried to move past it. That seems like the mature and adult way to proceed. I question why he was friends with her or if he ever actually was? How long had he thought of her as a plan B? Did he divorce his wife thinking he would just plug her in to that spot and move on?

Ugh! When is he not stressed then? Nasty. Women function all the time even when we're stressed. Stressed about our jobs, our relationships, our clothes/makeup/ every damn thing and a manchild on top. It's like Ginger Rogers doing everything thing Fred did backwards and in heels but he got paid more.

Well said! We have to be united in changing that behavior. We're not just setting our own standards, because they don't read us as individuals. We are also setting the expectation for the women who come after us.

Oh sure NOW he's afraid of losing her! Not when he was slinging D to randos and lying about it. She SHOULD leave him. What does it matter if her stepping out on him (with his knowledge none the less) is retaliatory?

"Financially dependent" as one of her reasons for not wanting to leave. She acts like child support and alimony don't exist. Especially since HIS cheating is the reason for the dissolution of the marriage. The poor dear. My heart really does break for her though. Like another poster said: I hope she gets tested and leaves him.

I was fat when my husband and I met. We enjoy being around each other. I am still fat. We still love hanging out and showing each other stuff that makes us laugh. We celebrate 9 years married next month. I feel like I was less of a target for trophy hunting d-bags. I'm not scared that he's going to leave me if my looks go. I get to do with my body what ever makes me happy. Like, I had a woman in a sports cuts ask if my "husband really lets [me] get my hair cut that short?" Blew my mind. Tdlr: if…
