Get a dedicated pocket recorder, and record 100% of the time. Not your phone -- the $50 gadgets that will store a week of audio, and battery life to match. Offload and store the data securely offsite whenever it feels up. (Ideally don't use VOX, so silence is recorded too.) It both keeps you on a more even keel, which you must do. And you might catch something useful...or as a defense. Never ever ever disclose it to anyone, unless it's via your lawyer. If you're in a two party state, talk to you…

I normally listen to pretty hard stuff...but if you're from the era, and ever want some lighter remix stuff, this guy is really really good at what he does. Axel F mixed with Undertale: https://youtu.be/HIW4QfdHybM (or the whole playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh2Ol5Fl0GiqeRenBi4T61MIdj2jJTAjM )

Heavy bag at home (learn how to protect your wrists and such). Lifting/gym. If you're in to some form of group sport, do some of that. Get some regular time in nature. This is good for life, not just now...humans need it. If there is some hobby or interest that coincides with helping a group or some volunteer work, see if it's for you. Helping maintain trails, arboretum kids garden, coaching, whatever. (For the geeks and urban folks among us...give it a shot. And it's fine if you're out maintain…

says I should regret hurting her by sleeping with someone else You're divorced. This is a very bad sign in any context. You can be sorry it hurt her, as you don't want her to feel that way. She's valid to feel hurt about it, that's pretty natural. But you also didn't do anything wrong, and the intent was not to hurt her. Some pain isn't a "wrong" by someone else in the situation, and in this case, it's something she simply has to deal with. It's not something for you to apologize for or feel reg…

From some rough searching for GA, which is tough because "there is no formula or calculation for determining alimony" is seems if spouses make within around 50% of each other, there might not be any alimony. And it's usually for 25-50% of the length of the marriage...so, say 1-3 years if there was any. But that's all guessing. I'd talk this over with two lawyers, at least a consult...like tomorrow. Find one you'd use if you went contested...maybe also one that does flat-fee uncontested work if y…

If you can pay cash, you can probably start with therapist or psychologist (that can't prescribe anything) and probably without even giving your real name. Or while many suck, with some research, there may be some online/virtual/phone places that are decent too. I'm not sure how reporting in the UK works but it can be more important to start talking, and this can remove the trapped situation when it's your career on the line, and the systems in place that create a downward spiral. It sucks how h…

I'm familiar with this from my time in aviation It's quite, well, depressing mixed with feeling trapped between needing help and your career. I know one pro pilot that self-medicates with alcohol, and the others pays cash as John Doe at his psychologist. I know it's hard for the FAA and other visibly-safety oriented agencies to be permissive, but currently is a non-workable head in the sand approach that punishes anyone seeking help. So people that with treatment would be safer, ignore it and car…

Then probably yes. I'd hedge toward practical and thoughtful enough, but not overly so. Like if she drinks tea, get her some of what she drinks...something that's not interesting but not useless. Or if you're getting all the tools and what's left is a crap mashup, and she would ever use the household basic ones, say, those all-in-one kits at Lowes in a case -- and never touch them. (Or figure it out with the kids, what they would like to get her is probably even better.) With a label/card signed…

just use a divorce mediator. You can still hire a lawyer to review documents and advise you personally for fairly cheap, or even flat fee (while its uncontested) for $2-3K. With kids especially, I would do this even if it stays perfectly amicable...you want the paperwork correct, and to have any issues pointed out. It's a business deal, and good if you treat it as such, as the law is very complex. You'll be working within the framework you build here for a long time. Best intentions, but...make …

Or for anything like this, be it early dates or buying stuff from locals, consider taking a small/bait wallet like a Ridge, that just has $50-100, insurance and a card or two...maybe your ID. Leave the big wallet at home. A very well off friend that was recently divorced even has a dating house that is in the nice but "normal rich" upper/middle part of town. It's always perfect and clean, and also doesn't have his nice things that scream his millions. He's fun to chat with.
