He did you a favour and told you who he really is. Time to let this go and find someone who shares your values.

2.5 years. It was the right amount of time for us.

He will find other people attractive but so will you. Your relationship is deeper than that and you don't act on it. Finding other people appealing is natural. Acting on it when you're in a committed relationship is not.

Of course you can. Music doesn't identify who you are as a human being. I'm female and I've been listening to hard rock and heavy metal for decades.

Men an women cheat. Sometimes there really isn't a reason. Both sexes do this.

This was never about her or you. Your ex cheated because that is the kind of person they are. The girl they cheated with is not better or worse. They were simply present for the activity.

I'm not worried about the age difference, but I can see the ex wife being a huge problem in your relationship. Myself, I wouldn't want to get involved with someone who had that kind of baggage, particularly if I was younger like you are.

It has been my experience that people often refer to the "practice spouse" as their first marriage. It's just an overused phrase. You have no reason to believe you're not ready, you admit yourself you do get along very well and things are going as they should. It sounds like you might be getting nervous as you get closer to making this relationship permanent based on past history. Your rearveiw mirror is smaller than your windshield for a reason. Always look forward.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
