My point says nothing about vacations or job security. I was talking about in general, not your specific case. It's acknowledging reality. Yes, the reality is that women choose jobs which pay less and choose not to ask for raises. No one is forcing them to become teachers.

the wage gap exists because men are more willing to ask for more pay, whereas women strike me as satisfied with what they're given. Then it comes down to personal accountability. If a person is not willing to ask for a raise, whose fault is it? The boss? For me, being a social worker or a teacher is not easier than being a quant. Yea, it's not like teachers have job security or extensive vacation time relative to most other jobs.

Supply and demand. Ever heard of it? If a certain career has more demand and more requirements, of course it will pay more. Besides, male social workers and teachers get same at nearly the same rate as their female counterparts. You are not comparing like with like. I'm all for raising wages for teachers but don't paint it as a gender issue.

Personally, I find it hard to see this behaviour as truly selfish in the same way taking someones ice cream and eating it yourself is selfish. Well these types of things exist on a spectrum. Driving without insurance or kidnapping someone are both illegal acts, but they are in no way morally equivalent. Badgering your kids to have kids is selfish, but not in the same way as stealing is.

This extends to video game producers as well. SJWs love to dragoon them into self censoring their games, and threaten to boycott. As an individual you can always tell them to fuck off, but as a company many times they feel obligated to comply. This creates a chilling effect to where game makers feel afraid that someone might get offended, so they censor without even being asked to.
