I know for a fact that the first thing my grandma did, when my grandpa died, was to go out and get herself a pair of jeans and some black lace undergarments. My grandpa wouldn't allow her to wear either. My grandpa wasn't abusive as such, but my grandma definitely didn't have much say about things and couldn't have ditched the marriage even if she would have wanted to.

NO!! You do not want to make things work with this loser!! He showed you his true colors, that's not ever going to change in any positive way. You need to kick him to the curb!

Asking a random woman in the street about dick size preferences is blatant sexual harassment and should be reported to the police without delay!

All the comments here make me think of all the worthless schnooks on "90 days to wed" (name?). They're horrified when they realize that the "easy to control" women they thought they were importing, actually are tough as nails. The show is heavily biased in favor of the poor American men (majority are men) who get "scammed" by these "horrible gold diggers". The women are "gold diggers" when they're not happy with disgustingly filthy living quarters or obnoxious room mates etc. The men all, withou…

"Separate" to me means that each person pays for what they eat, not going half/half! Also, how is it awkward to set things right?? I wouldn't accept that at all! Fuck sitting quietly like a "good girl"! And then the asshole has the nerve to go in for a kiss and wants more dates?? Dude needs to take a long walk on a short pier! (god Love that oldie!)

Nope, no momma is supposed to take care of an asshole son. He better show respect or get the hell out.

Miranda is exactly like every powerful businessman in every goddamned movie; yet nobody ever considered making a movie called "The devil wears Armani". If a woman in any movie ever behaves like Nate, she's "evil" and "unsupportive" and the male protagonist invariably gets rid of her, in favor of a girl who looks at him with unadulterated admiration. She also typically has a "hobby type" job, so nothing that can make her as powerful or wealthy as he is.... I really am too old for this shit...

Why would you want him to do anything but hit the road and not let the door hit him in the ass on his way out?? He's shown his true colors. Why even think that this is some kind of anomaly? This is his true self. Whatever "nice guy" stuff he did before, it was all an act. This is what he really is; the other him just had a coat of varnish over the assholery.

Major creepozoids! "I want someone who's not her own person and challenges my assholery. I want a childbride that can't make any demands because I make sure she hasn't had time to get a career or a stable financial situation, and is completely dependent on me." Eeeww, yuck, disgusting! *gagging violently*

Society has conditioned women to believe that something is wrong with them if they're not in a relationship with a man. A single woman is an anomaly. Why? Because if women were to find out how perfectly happy they can be without a man in their lives, the NVM of the world would be in deep shit. All alone with nobody to handle their shit. It's a fact that married men live longer than unmarried men, but unmarried women live longer than married women...

You're not even the last resort; you're the extension of her implied duty to always cater to her huband's needs,no matter what. You're the means to this end. He expects her to transfer her "wifely duties" (well most of them) to someone else, so that he never has to stand without someone handling his shit. If she had to stay in the hospital for some time, he'd expect her to make sure that some other woman come and take care of the kids, clean the house and cook for him and the kids. And take time…

True! I'm glad though, that the women who broke free are largely raising their sons differently, or at least trying. They're still fighting an uphill battle.

My Muslim friends put it the best way: "A man with one wife, has one woman laughing at him behind his back. A man with four wives has four women laughing at him. And contrary to what he thinks when he hears the wives arguing about sleeping arrangements; they're not arguing about who GETS to sleep with him, but who HAS to sleep with him."

Men: "I don't like hairy legs. I don't like hairy armpits. I don't like a hairy vagina." (it's vulva motherfucker!!) Also men: Looks like he just evolved to an upright position, hairy as fuck. "I'm a maaan! Hair is natural!" (No, I'm not of the hairy persuation, but I'll be damned if a man who doesn't shave his armpits and doesn't do some serious manscaping, is going to tell me that I'm too hairy!)

I can relat so much. I'm not Indian or North African, but I was married to a North African man. Most of my circle of friends I had in my life were either North African or married to one. Once I decided to divorce him, I became a paria, because I would "give women ideas". The women were so gaslighted or deep in internalized misogyny that they decided to believe their men, even though they knew that the nasty rumors my ex and his friends spred weren't true. Fast forward 10 years and 9 out of 10 of…

Because they want a woman who's sacrificed her whole life for them. Someone without a career, doesn't give up anything for them. If someone with a great career gives it up, it means they're really great, cause, you know, she gave up her career for him. That also gives you the unverbalised notion that if she's unhappy, it's on her, cause she thought he was great enough to give up her life for. If she's unhappy with such a great guy, she's doing something wrong. There are so many layers to this. …

I'd say it's more of a way to avoid the implied concent to anything. You don't have to deal with his expectations in the same way because "you're not sending mixed signals". How accepting a plate of food signals sexual availability, is beyond me, but scrotes. On the other hand, looking too sexy also apparently signals sex av too. Not looking sexy or really dolled up on the other hand, is almost insulting, cause, you know, you force him to go out with someone he can't show off to other scrotes. N…

My fuckthat-ometer just went through the roof! Why should a young, beautiful woman waste her best years catering to an old scrote as a sex puppet and broodmare?? Those are the years she should dedicate to studies, travelling, form different kinds of relationships and come into her own. I'd like to know what this creep thinks women, after 20 years with a scrote like this, should do? They never had a life of their own, kids are in college and they sit there with an aging man, who lusts after anoth…

Funny thing is that these are the very same people who talk loud and wide about how muslims treat women and girls like possessions, and hold themselves up as a prime example of a man who *respects* and *honors* women. In fact they're of the same ilk. They're just as obsessed with whom their daughters have sex or dates. How often do you see memes etc of dads telling their sons that they can't date until hey're 30 "hehehe I'm so funny". It's a recurring "joke" in movies and shows. You don't have m…

When I was younger I would have made like the quintessential "good girl" and just stuck it out until he signaled that the date was over. I was too insecure to turn a man down. As I got older I found that thanking for dinner/coffee/whatever and ending the date, got easier. There's definitely something to be said for getting older and have ever less fucks to give. I'm not about to waste my time with someone who just makes me feel "meh" at best.

Ladies, we're talking about the people who invented microwave sex! "Oh come on! I'll just put it in for a minute!" Bad sex is not worth the time, effort, mess! Pretty good sex is not worth the time, effort and mess! Only great sex is worth the time, effort and mess. However, a good book, a box of chocolates and a drink is always a better deal than any sex. And less messy. And you don't get the "Did you cum?" (Dude, if you couldn't hear me, I didn't cum!)

I've been called fat at a time when I (5"8) weighed 110lbs... It's some kind of a go to "insult" no matter what the circumstances. If they can't come up with a witty answer or arguement, they'll readily resort to name-calling. Grown "men"...

"Looking out for her" by wishing for her to be assaulted so she'll understand how much he cares. Cut to camera 2: 10 years later She's at the hospital for the 4th time in 6 months. This time with "only" two broken ribs and a black eye, but it was "her fault for making him upset, she knows he doesn't like her to say hi to the mailman". I'm so sick of how women second guess their gut feelings, because society tells them they're responsible for the relationship and his behaviour! And how a woman sh…

And then when she gets pregnant, he expects her to give up her life, work, dreams and aspirations. He wants a child with a built in nanny and maid. No way would he even consider being the primary carer. What a huge pile of steaming shit he is! She needs to get out!

I worked in a driving school for 5 years, and of those students who overrated their abilities, 98% where male. Women almost always underestimated themselves instead.

This is sad beyond words! Taking your clothes off for leering creeps and then be pleased with being able to buy a MD meal... This isn't empowerment, it's exploatation pure and simple. Most of the OF girls are still very young, at an age where they're not yet mature enough to understand the long term ramifications. Once they do, it's too late and their lives can be destroyed because of things that may, at that point, be years back.

First of all: don't look to date at all. Cultivate your own interests, get your own circle of friends and do you. Live your life as if men don't exist. When you have a truly fulfilling life, in your own right, will you be able to pick a great guy to date. If it takes two years or ten, it doesn't matter. Don't fall for the "boilogical clock" trope. Enjoy your life! Don't settle! When people tell you that you need to lower your standards, cause you're being picky and asking for the impossible of m…

Asking a lot about your childhood is a way of finding out about any trauma you may carry. Trauma is an excellent trigger point later on, when they want to control you. It always seems like "just wanting to get to know you better", but in actual fact they're scouting for vulnerabilities. Anything you tell them about your past, can, and will, be weaponized at some point. Childhood trauma = vulnerable. Happy childhood = accusations of being spoilt and entitled. One way or another, they'll use what …

I love this, dear sister! I could never express this so well myself, so I'm grateful you did. As a gen x woman who's opted out of the entire dating/mating/cis togetherness thing, I watch in horror at what the young women and girls of today have to put up with. Things in the 80's weren't all peaches and cream, but the things young girls today are expected to accept, are way beyond anything that most of us had to deal with, in terms of sexuality. It frightens me. Being the mother of an amazing you…

No man can stand the idea of a woman having her own money. Money of her own means she's not dependent on him. Any time she asks him to contribute with money or labor of any kind, she's a gold digger or "high maintenance". (Especially when it comes to nasty stuff like child support...) He makes sure to rid her of any money she's got, and then calls her a money grabbing bitch for wanting him to give back to her. Men constantly come up with new ways of sucking women dry, financially, emotionally, p…
