EMDR I had what you’re talking about and did 4 sessions of emdr and the my emotional regulation to most stressors went to normal. Research and do whatever you can to get him to do it. Changed my life.

Ahhh, except one important factor. Which is the different style distinction. Go to Gen or DragonCon, meet girls at the local gaming shop, hit on the math nerd chick that couldn’t color coordinate if her life depended on it. There is this striving for the classic hottie, or the sophisticate, the princess whose a tiger in bed. I think that there needs to be different styles of this depending on where you fall on the attractiveness/social skill/geek etc scales. I mean, I’m late 40s and I swear I get better looking and smoother the older I am. But my 28 year old software engineer self could never pull off this partly because of the development environment and being a D&D playing geek (meaning not a lot of women around). This is the first time I’ve had my theory of this topic spoken to by someone with first hand experience. Too many guys see their great looking friends hit on and consider that the test of their own attractiveness, which they then grade themselves as automatically a C or lower. Having grown up as a 7 in a family of 10s, this fucked me up for a while. Thanks for posting this.
