My father was romantic, very romantic. He wrote poems, bought (supermarket) flowers, bought expensive jewellery (jewellery that my mother never wanted or wore btw- she was more boho in style and preferred shells or beads etc. He never understood this) He made these grand gestures and claimed to worship her - yet she raised us kids by herself, she looked after his business, she did all the house work and ran his life his life like a PA whilst he spent his free time either sleeping or indulging hi…

Theres a girl just like in work. She turns up saying she's got no makeup on and the guys are buying it. She's obviously wearing BB cream , blush, brows and false lashes ffs. She claims she doesbt do any skincare, haircare or body care but us magically hair free and has bleached blond hair. She claims to eat loads if fatty stuff but we never see her eat. She went off to have a baby and came back slimmer than before. She does admit hitting the gym though. She is a lovely person though, i do like h…

What if you are a woman who doesnt like cats, dogs or children??? I don't have any pets and I'm not having children (or a husband!) . I don't plan on looking after anyone but me - is that a red flag? (I'm extreamly nurturing though and used to be an infant teacher lol) I make an exception for rodents. I LOVE rats but i travel with work and am not at home to look after them.

I don't celebrate Christmas but my birthday is just before and my partner got me some books that were really thoughtful and insightful. I try hard to give gifts that are useful and show that i know the person, thier interests and their aims. All the gifts i received were really thoughtful and i feel so lucky.

My ex FORGED my signature on his student loan. I found out when they contacted me to make a payment. Luckily they took my word for it and i gave them his parents contact details. I never heard from them again. I probably should gave gone to the police.

I'm 5ft 0. I consistently get men over 6ft interested in me (short girls seems to be really attractive to tall guys) and to be blunt ex's have been well endowed (one was far too big) and not chubby ( except my last ex but i was still madly attracted)... so i don't think my standards are too high.. My response to guys who complain like this is ... 'so?' You are right - we are not pussy charities.

I would buy my mums presents off my dad ( with dads money) to make sure she got something useful.and thoughtful. My dad is autistic and would just ask for a list and buy everything off the list- but at the last minute so it was all the stuff with damaged boxes etc. She deserved better.

What if they wong take no for an answer? What if they want to be there and care for you? Sounds good? Not for me. When I'm sick i like to isolate myself. I don't want soup or tissues or anything. I dont want caring texts or phone calls - i just want to be left alone till I'm better. I think guys who don't respect this are just as bad. Plus- i won't be caring for them if they are sick either. I don't do that. (Ill maybe drop off supplies but I won't stay)

Its never been pushed on me, neither has kids. My parents had a very sucessful marriage - but my mum is shy and always said how much she hated her wedding day. She never had pictures around the house if it. I never had that expectation, and i think id be uncomfortable with being the center of attention too. Personally i just dont like the legal contract part of it either. You either want to be with me or not.

Thanks for your reply. Its not that i don't evolve - its just never really been evolving together - interests diverging, sense of aesthetics diverging. I still live with my ex of 13 years. We still love each other but our ideas about sex life are quite different and i got fed up being the only one to compromise and do things i wasn't comfortable with. He wasn't interested unless his tastes were catered for - so we were at an impass. I have met someone (some one ive loved for all my life) who has…

Ahh, I'm one foot out of the door. I don't think i could ever promise forever to someone. I just don't think that's possible for me. I've always had very long term relationships but at the end of the day one person ends up evolving into someone else that would be better off with a different person. I can promise, until this stops working for either of us though. Maybe its because i know deep down that as much as they loved each other my parents would have thrived with a different kind of person …

My parents had a very long and happy marriage. I just don't want a legal marriage. I dont want contracts involved in my romantic life- its nothing to do with fear of being hurt, or the relationship failing.

But if you don't want kids and you own your own house, car career, savings etc. I don't see why you need marriage. There are a few legal things in the UK like inheritance tax and capital gains tax that you could be liable for but i don't expect to gain anything over the threshholds from my partner.

I seem to meet nothing but dead beat, porn-sick, overweight, un-groomed, no style, no motivation , no life guys with kids and a divorce. They are all looking to replace their mommy- girlfriend asap (because life is too hard without a girlfriend to do everything for them and fix their ouchies, and because asking for hug from a guy friend is gaaaaay ) that and a combination manic pixie dreamgirl/ amateur porn actress who (supposedly) enjoys being treated like fuckmeat.

My parents onky ever dated each other and had a loving relationship till the end. Im all for long term relationships though. You always had a super flirty relationship- thats the difference. I dont have that with my male friends. I dont allow it. I know they would sleep with me if i let them ( even a couple of the married ones once confided this to me - which i didnt want to hear) ... ive never seen them that way so couldnt imagine it. I try to ignore it. My ex ( of 12 years) is one of my closest friends. I ended it because the sex just wasn't there. I really wish it was. I adore him. The other guy i feel closest too …

I see your point and yes i want both. I want someone i bond with on an emotional / psychological- and sexual level. I think men and women see friends differently. Very differently. I dont think you are thinking like a woman at all, you are thinking like a man who thinks all women are fair game and is attracted to most women. Im a woman and i can speak for my female friends. My male gyno flicked my clit ring and asked if i did anything for me. The femake nurse chaperone looked visibly shocked and appalled. I was young and too upset to do anything about it. My male GP regularly sexually assaulted me at age 14. It came out that he had asaulted tonnes of women. It went to court and he got off on the excuse that it was old fashioned examination techniques. Bullshit.

I have to disagree . Forced abortion is not morally right and 'financial abortion' by the father wont work because you cant enforce no morally right to enforce no contact with the child if the father changes his mind at any time. SAHM or career is a womans choice if financially viable but the man does not have to agree to remain in the relationship. Its a choice that should be discussed before marraige and agreed by both parties. SAHM are not employees of the man. Its a totally different relatio…

Child support funds children who have been conceived by men , not just by women alone. Stay at home mothers are providing services such as childcare and home making. Women who work are providing income. Alimony is fair as the women usuallly gives up her means of income to provide care for the breadwinner. Sex is not usually a traded commodity in a relationship. Its something that two people share due to mutual love ,respect an affection.

The research that is always quoted with regards tp the pair-bond thing describes how women with more partners have instigated a higher number of divorces. The pair bond thing is speculation as to causation. Yep, I don't get it. I want my space. My home. I don't ever want to be married, so there is that. I think paying two mortgages is a small price to pay for my space. If a guy doesn't want that, then he's not the guy for me. Oh well. No, not really. Not at all. I think the scene tends to be small so people are quite modest /Conservative. Some people might pose that way for a bit to look edgy (when they are like 18) but it's not something that translates in to anything they actually do and everyone sees through it. At the fetish nights or fetish fairs I've been to, the majority of the people actually into bdsm or swinging etc. were not goths. People get the impression that I'm a dominatrix (!) just because of the word goth. I…

It's Twilight fan fiction (seriously, that's what it stated out as) . Women loved that this handsome, young, talented, sophisticated multi millionaire who could fly a helicopter and play the piano fell head over heels in love with a plain, poor, sweet, dowdy, virgin girl and changed her life, and gives her, her dream career too. She gets a new designer wardrobe picked out for her by a stylist, a personal chef,a personal trainer, a yacht holiday and a car. All she has to do is fix this poor broken…

Have you read 50 shades of Grey? The story is about how she is so amazing that she 'cures' him of his nasty bdsm kink that he only developed because he was broken, and they go on to get married and have a normal marriage with 2.4 children etc. . It's nothing to really do with bdsm at all. The bdsm community generally dislike that book.

I think possibly just an outlier in terms of reddit sex related forums... though I've seen similar comments to mine recently on the sex reddit. One from a lady and one from a man, who wondered if it was an age thing. I'm 42 and I don't really watch porn. If I do, it just massage or gentle couples stuff. Funny thing is I've been to a few fetish clubs as I'm goth and they tend to have mixed nights. I love the bdsm look (and own many many corsets, own lots of leather, latex and pvc outfits, huge pl…

In which case I'd have to respectfully disagree that its most women. I don't think you can generalise.

I get it and I'm sure lots of women are into that, but I'm sure there are lots of women like me who do not want to relinquish control. As I said, there's no power dynamic for me - noone has control, it's both of us expressing desire and being assertive equally.

I'm saying Id absolutely hate those things. Don't get me wrong, I love passionate sex and athletic sex but it's not a power dynamic, it's pure lust for the person I'm with. If anything I'm more into a tantric experience of sex.

Is this just related to bdsm relationships, or meant to apply to most sexual relationships? In my personal experience there is no power dynamic, no giving or taking - just two people equally into each other and wanting to pleasure each other. I don't need labels like sub or dom. It's equal or nothing for me, I can't imagine I'm alone in this.

Yes, rape fantasies, rough sex leanings and bdsm interests are a nope for me.

I can only speak for myself. I am 40, have a degree, great career, own my own home, have a good car and have no debt apart from a mortgage. I have never once considered job, income or ability to provide when meeting a romantic partner. I do not want kids or marriage so maybe that's part of it. Not one of my few long term partners have been my equal in terms of education, career and ownership of 'things' (house etc). Its not important to me.

What I mean is, it's common sense that there is at least a base-line expectation of physical and sexual attractiveness (and also social skills, plus a base-line of general humanity) when considering partners. That goes without saying really. If anyone doesn't recognise that, then I'm a bit surprised. I suppose it's projection to think that guys should know that.. but it's kinda basic. Both sexes like good looking and charismatic people. Good looking is of course subjective (yes, I'm aware that w…

Why? For me, sex is something that two people do together because they are mutually sexually attracted, its for both thier sexual and emotional benefit. To do this very intimate act with someone knowing that they are not into it, or not into you and not to care is pretty horrific to me. I'm not sure I can articulate it better, but it's a visceral reaction. Its different than trading labour for money because.... It's sex, its intimacy... Maybe its just the way I think about sex...maybe it's becau…

Agreed. It's not ideal, no and from what I read validation is a big part of that, and can't really be achieved through this kind of transaction. My comments were based on men I would find sexually attractive, but the mind-set would put me off. I wasn't thinking about other perspectives/men. I have sympathy for the incel community. Attraction cannot be forced and I have no ideas on how to improve thier situation with regards to achieving genuine reciprocal attraction and affection... But that's a…

For me personally the ick factor with a guy who has been with a prostitute is that I assume he was okay with having sex with someone without having mutual sexual attraction. Maybe the dude is lying to himself... But he has to know on some level that shes only doing it for the money.... and he doesnt care. Personally I couldn't be with a guy if I suspected he thought that way. This extends to hook ups too. Its a red light to me.

Depends what kind of dancing you are doing and the context. If you intend on grinding with random guys then yeah. If like me you're headbanging in a corner of a rock club then no imo.

Yes, Ive never wanted marriage or children but I've always desired t have more than one male partner in a LTR, not for casual sex though.

Is this a troll? 50? Whoah! . I'm 40 and I'd not expect a guy to hook up with that many people by my age, let alone 25. Maybe it's a generation thing but most of my friends would agree that 50 is a large number. It would definitely be a red flag for me, that's my preference.

I understand and agree mostly with this, but ld counter that a guys sexual history matters just as much to women. It would certainly put me off a guy if he had multiple hook-ups and casual sex. Sex can be just as important to women... just take a look at the dead bedrooms sub- it's about 50/50 men and women.

It doesnt inflate my ego because the kind of guy who would hit me up like that are bound to be hitting up dozens of other women, if not more. I want to know I'm special to them. I don't go on dates because I'm not looking for anything and I have no interest in getting to know them. If anything it's annoying more than flattering. The other issue is that the type of guys asking for a hook up, must think I'm the type of girl who does that, and I don't. Plus they must be the type of guy who does tha…

Personally (f) , I seem to have always dated down by societies standards. I have a great job and my own money, house, car, savings etc and I seem to date guys in minimum wage jobs with no house or car etc. It doesn't really bother me except when I'm always the one paying for things. Looks-wise I've been told that I'm better looking than my partners but I just don't see it. I'm picky, yes, but I like characterful faces over modelesque looks. I find my partners totally sexy and fuckable and I don'…

My visceral gut reaction is to flinch. Maybe I see it as a submissive act. I'm not really into submissive guys, or power play in any form really..... But when I think about the bisexual guys I've dated and imagining them getting hot and heavy with another guy, or the whimpering moans of a guy during butt play... I kinda think its hot... Surprised myself, but there you go.

Extreamly attracted to male bodies. They can take my breath away and arouse me intensely. Not attracted to female bodies in any way. If I want to see tits, I can look at my own (yawn) Dito for the cock. And balls. Love the cock. Love balls. The look, the feel and the scent.... Fuck. Love sex- with men. (not into bdsm stuff/power dynamic though) Payment? Affection, enthusiasm - that's payment enough for me. I'd be happy to give and receive an orgasm or two. Cut-off cocks? That's fucking horrendou…

Personally, I dated a guy who I later found out had been dating another woman all along. I was pissed that I didn't have all the facts to base my decision on whether to date him or not. He knew I'd nope out of there if I knew, which is why he deliberately kept that fact from me. We have discussed it since. We remain friends but I'd never date him again.

That's fine, what I mean is go slow- even if that means I've the course of an evening or a month. Ease me into it. Let me know what's coming and give me a chance to respond positively or back off rather than comming in full throttle with declarations of intent or feelings. Escalating flirtiness back and forth gives both parties a chance to save face if needs be.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/18 01:02 PM

Thats cool because the intention would be built and the invitation won't come out of nowhere. In this case the other person has has a chance to respond and escalate if they are feeling it. I don't have a problem in friendsjips developing into relationships. It's just disconcerting when there are no hints or anything beforehand, no chance to see if there might be reciprocation before the big 'reveal'.

Plenty of alone time with both over coffee, movies etc, getting quite close, emotionally speaking as freinds. The difference being that with the guy who kept it purely platonic, I knew we were great friends, but I had no indication we could be great lovers. He built no 'tingles' so to speak (no sexual banter, no touching, no confident looks of intent - all that stuff). In that context asking me out made no sense to me - it came out of nowhere!. Before anyone asks why the guy should take all the …

I could find two guys equally physically attractive but if one guy interacted with flirting and the other guy was completely platonic, Id develop chemistry with the first guy and not with the second.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/18 01:19 AM

Attraction can start out purely physical but without flirting and escalation, for me anyway it dies, it is sublimated into platonic frienship. Of course you can build chemistry - that's what flirting is--the back and forth escalation. Personally id never go on a date with anyone I didn't already have chemistry with, developed over a period of flirting . I don't see the point otherwise. The meetoo thing is a total red herring. You can't go from zero to 100mph in one step imo.

I have had plenty of experiences with shy, socially awkward guys because my interests tend to attract those kind of guys. I assume we have a friendship. No favours, no gifts, 50/50 on everything. There is no flirting, no escalation and then after months of platonic convos about Dr Who - bam! He asks me out. I'm usually totally blindsided as there has been no hint of sexual chemistry, no flirting, nothing... This situation is really awkward for me. I hate having to turn them down. Compare this to…
