My self worth was literally tied to my ability to make the women in my life happy. This lead to numerous failed relationships because it’s quite simple: you cannot make someone else happy. It took a long time and plenty of counselling (I’m blessed to have the means to afford access to private therapy) but I’ve since been able to rewire my brain to not seek validation from others.
