Lesbian women cannot reappropriate "f*ggot."Personally I like to use the word queer to define myself at times. But yes the term queer has been reclaimed by the queer community as a whole as an umbrella term to encompass anyone under the umbrella. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 30/09/21 07:08 AM
Lesbian women cannot reappropriate "f*ggot."My stance on the fruity thing as a gay man is this. From my experience I've seen it used against queer people in general. Queer people overall I have no issue using in general. The only issue I've had with it is cishet people beginning to feel comfortable using it or even gender roles. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 30/09/21 07:06 AM
Tokenization/fetishization of LGBTQ menSimply put I was figuring myself out at the point. I knew I wasn't straight for sure but all the while I didn't exactly know what | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/08/21 06:59 PM
Tokenization/fetishization of LGBTQ menNot at all. Sometimes you aren't sure where you fall so you simply want to be labeled as queer. Sometimes you don't want a distinct label so you're queer. And in general it is an umbrella term. I myself used to identify solely as queer and then I fell into gay as my label but I still use queer from time to time. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/08/21 05:44 PM
It seems like deadbeat fathers get more acknowledgement than wonderful fathers. Why is this?I personally would chop this up to like many things. We see more of the negative than the good. I wouldn't even say this as a gender exclusive thing personally. I've seen much more about bad mother's or parents as a whole in my life than wonderful ones. But that's just my take. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/07/21 04:09 AM
It's okay to care about men.Always love your content where you point out in a non combatant way that advocacy for men doesn't imply to take away attention from issues women face too. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/04/21 09:49 PM
| -15 | If the 2020 BLM protests achieved anything, it's being undone by the response to the Everard murderBlack women also face police brutality. Is there a higher rate on one end of black men or women? Sure there is a viewable difference but there into one side facing it. The clear differihere though is that while like all things it is intersectional part of the BLM movement is not only police brutality but other systemic issues with race and the justice system. I myself a white man haven't been harrassed by police ever compared to my black neighbours, Indian neighbours, indigenous neighbours and m… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 28/03/21 06:22 PM |
My English class just had a discussion about gender, and it went better than I could have ever expected.Yeah it's really fun. It was a more discussion based class and quite different then what I initially thought. It was a place where you were welcome to speak your beliefs about a subject and that one conversation could take up nearly the whole class. We discussed a bunch of issues, race, gender disparity on all fronts, LGBTQ+, climate change, etc. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/02/21 03:05 PM
My English class just had a discussion about gender, and it went better than I could have ever expected.I'm a little nervous still but my leadership class is discussing gender issues soon and considering how my social justice class was last year I'm feeling pretty good. I definitely am going to compile talking points so I can assure our discussion isn't focused on one end of the spectrum. I do know my teacher wants to discuss a lot about women's international issues at some point. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/02/21 07:03 AM
