That's too bad, but everyone is different. Cheers!

It's probably that he's just comfortable with physical contact. Most of the people I know are, they have no issues being in physical contact with members of their own sex. Hell, some of my straight guy friends have been known to be found "cuddling" with their best bro after a night of partying; it just ain't no thang 'cause there's nothing sexual about it.

Hooray for Joe! That sounds like a a fun night, and good on you for not busting Joe's friends on the homophobia. I've had to bite my tongue for the sake of the greater vibe, but fortunately I can count on one hand how many times that happened (twice so far in my life). (Protip: a lot of guys go for exactly that. If I were to done it, it would have been quite different). Ding! Ding! Ding! As a gay dude, I realized this a bit late and took steps to change my appearance. It's definitely gotten me a…

This is relevant to my interests. I'm terrible at finding/flirting/seducing guys. Comically terrible, but still terrible.

You're right and I know that rationally, so I keep chugging through all this self-hate. Thank you :)

I remember seeing that, it was a sadly accurate observation.

Yeah, as a gay man, the use of homophobic slurs to shame men hits so many buttons. It's suggesting that no one would ever want to be like me because I'm a horrible monster and, you know what? I've started to believe it. Thank goodness for the people over at /r/depression and /r/suicidewatch because I'm in a pretty dark place right now.

She should definitely face the consequences of her actions; perhaps not jail time, but something appropriate due to the mess that resulted from her false claims. Community Service or having to read every Sweet Valley High novel in a single sitting.

I've seen a trend slowly emerging in America. I wonder if, in my lifetime, being poor will actually be criminalized.

This is really insightful and I find that projection isn't limited to women. Everyone does this when they "judge" others. What someone thinks about you has more to do with their self than it does with you. I noticed this about myself whenever I have a judgemental idea about someone, it's kinda freaky.

As a gay man, female privilege causes my brain to routinely short out. Seeing or hearing about good, decent men who are treated with nowhere near the same amount of reverence that these men treat women they consider to be attractive. I will admit it: As a gay dude, I'm intensely envious of women - they don't have to work to get these great guys to fawn over them; or, at least, it appears to be that way. Goddammit I hate being me.

I don't think it's intended to be indicative of sexism but, rather, of equality. An example of a woman not getting a lighter sentence by virtue of being female. While still an awful story, one that I just can't wrap my head around, it is an example of justice being gender-blind. Maybe.

I could be completely wrong, I'm not exactly well-informed on this topic, but it seems that child custody laws favor the mother, even if placing the child with the mother is an obviously bad decision. If child custody laws were balanced, then maybe there'd be more women on that site? It's impossible to tell, of course. I'm just saying that men and women, despite their differences, are more alike than we may think.

I voted for that one as well; while I'd like to see a number of these given attention, I think Fathers' Rights and Child Support Situation should be given the spotlight.

This. A thousand times this. Men's clothing are considered "unisex", but men still have limited clothing choices. When new choices become available, such as skinny jeans (ooh, a variation of jeans, how exotic!), they're quickly labelled as all kinds of terrible things and those who wear them are mocked. I haven't had to go clothes shopping since I stopped growing because men's fashion never changes. It's fucking boring.

And I know I shouldn't be bothered by it and, 99% of the time I'm not, but after hearing it used that way over, and over and over again ... it wears on the best of us, even if we don't want it to.

And yet I still feel the need to tell people, "I'm not gay or anything..." when discussing the topic. As a gay dude, it kind of sounds strange to hear that phrase prefacing a sentence spoken by a straight guy. On the one hand, sometimes it needs to be said; I have known other gay guys who had trouble wrapping their heads around the fact that hetero guys really exist, so they need to be explicitly told "no, most men are not into you because you're male" on a regular basis lest they forget and thi…

If my dad had not asked me to not rock the boat ("do it for me") then there are a few choice words I would have liked to have had with her. "Let me make this very plain. I did NOT leave my mom, my friends, my dog, my job and everything familiar to me just to move all the way out here so I could clean your house and be your gay trophy. The only reason I don't tell dad you're cheating on him is because he already knows and, for some reason that escapes me, he wants to try to salvage your marriage.…

Oh man, this article is gold! They are more like the kids we babysat than the dads who drove us home." So what you're saying is you want to hook up with your dad?

Many of us are just as sick-to-fucking-death of entitlement bitches refusing to take responsiblilty and fucking over decent men (our fathers, brothers, nephews and friends). The female friends that I have are great people. They loathe inequality as much as I do, they don't just believe in gender equality: they practice it. Outside of my group of female friends, however, I have known some incredibly cruel women who believe they have the right to treat men like garbage just because they have diffe…

I agree that it is stupid to begin with. Since I'm Forever Alone, if I choose to do something on VD then I'll show myself some love, buy some delicious chocolate, a bottle of champagne, and then spend a romantic evening crying alone in the bathtub. Don't judge, it's a lifestyle choice.

Lame. You could use the same bullshit reasoning to claim that Valentine's Day is heternomative discrimination against LGBA people because it focuses on man-woman love. Which it doesn't, but to this kind of reasoning, the facts don't really matter anyway.

One day a co-worker asked me if I watched "the game" on [weekday] and I replied: "Oh yeah, I thought it was smashing how herp-a-derp finegaled that gleeg into whoa-wop." I got a strange look before I followed up with: "I don't follow sports."

I live in Regina, SK. My youngest brother was on the bus on his way home when a guy tried to sell him some narcotics; my brother declined. When my brother's stop came up, he got off, and so did the seller and his buddy. After the bus took off, my brother was stabbed in the chest and they followed him all the way to the doorstep. Dad answered the bloodied door and the jerks threatened him, too. My brother survived, fortunately. This "Request Stop" program needs to be extended to everyone because …
