With the friends in her room and you in the waiting room you are soon to become the “abuser”. Start looking for attorneys

Understand that everyone in your list is female. They can’t help it. Try to establish relationships with men

At least you have the insight on the next attorney making promises and doing jack. There’s probably a 97% chance of that happening. You aren’t alone

Brave of you to post this. We all make mistakes. It’s what the system wants. Wish I could say it gets better but when they want to damage the kids through you there isn’t much you can do.

If contested each side will ask for everything. Custody, SS, CS, EQ Distribution, exclusive use, restrain order so no one can clean accounts, tax filings, everything. It's gladiatorial, you won't get what's not on there

Judges used to be attorneys. Attorneys like money. Neither care about your finances and children. Both care about theirs.

You gave first... not good. The lesson learned will cost you billable hours
/r/Divorce_Men27/06/23 06:32 PM

Don't even entertain it. If asked they are old photos and you already gave her the stuff. That would be fun if she takes it to a judge

You need to file to get a hard separation date. She's doing everything right as though someone is coaching her

How many years and what state? Looking iffy if you can't get her right. She may know what she is doing and you will have to split that debt

Preach. All the crying about how much you loved her and I have to pay xx. Watching your offspring get destroyed beats it all. Keep posting the truth

Societal pressure from certain factions are conditioning them from a young age. I don't see it getting better with time.

She wants the 7 year old more because she knows the older will age out before child support can be gained.

No brainer. Yes

Do it now while you have small assets and can minimize alimony. Trade off, she will poison the child against you and do anything to keep the cs train rolling and maximized.

Your comment demonstrated that you too have dealt with a dummy. Unfortunately me too. Shame it only takes one to tango. My ex spent 700 dollars arguing over a crock pot.

That with attorneys love money and foolish spouses.

Great question.

Any man that says talk to a GAL has never had a GAL appointed. Mom can have 3 kids to a room or couch surf with no big deal, dad, not so much.

I watched my mom rack my dad up with Mary Kay 30 years ago. How is it a business lol? Think Dad just wanted to get her doing anything because she didn't want to raise the kids. Watched my dad go through it, I didn't learn and went through it just like you guys are experiencing. It got better when I got to the other side. Don't know about the kids though, money makes them crazy.

If a judge signs this, 3 years from now you realize how lucky and fortunate you are.

She's going to go for long term alimony with a 10 year and not working for so long. Texas be damned. Houses sold. No post financial entanglements You need a litigator that can mediate
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/23 10:02 PM

No. Get it signed. Remember tax deductions which you get if you have 50/50 and have a higher AGI. So shhhhhh
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/23 11:37 PM

Even if paying them incredible sums of money they always give the wife/mom more leeway and are more ethical which isn't a positive quality in the family legal system.

Male. Only family law. Recent reviews.

Your father is about to get ass gapped. Telling the son like it is. Lol
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/23 04:15 PM

She was trying to get cps involved by having your daughter make statements. 3 is too young and a waste of money for a psych unless you have an agenda. Tell her no.
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/23 03:27 PM
3

Too young. If she's made allegations against you in the past all she is trying to do is build a case by using a therapist. It's daycare not school
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/23 03:16 PM
4

Were you represented? Sounds like he sent you a whited out version and entered the original. I doubt it was unintentional.
/r/Divorce_Men26/01/23 11:53 PM

Not going to end well trying to use as evidence. Doesn't mean a well placed welfare check during times of nefarious behavior can't occur.
/r/Divorce_Men26/01/23 03:10 AM
6

She will talk to an attorney and then want the kids, alimony, and every penny. Get into therapy and prepare.
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/23 09:46 AM
1

GAL tanked the evidence to level the playing field. No way you were going to get primary. You can go to trial and have your attorney try to present the evidence but 50/50 is still what you will end up with. That and a lot of billable hours
/r/Divorce_Men03/01/23 11:28 PM

Lol. Someone has never had a GAL appointed based on the 2nd paragraph.

/r/Divorce_Men20/12/22 05:36 PM

You are correct. It's that wishful thinking until she talks to an attorney.

Wait to run up some legal bills before bankruptcy.

I try not to compare my divorce with children to my parents divorce which my mom did the right thing. Times have changed and the system has created a very different type of woman.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/22 11:35 AM
3

Don't pay it unless ordered bt the court
/r/Divorce_Men08/10/22 12:22 PM
2

In theory that sounds great. Late 30 zebras don't change their stripes. By telegraphing your intentions you give her notice to talk to an attorney. When that happens it's going to be tough with the situation you present. She will get half and there will be alimony. What else can be done?
/r/Divorce_Men06/07/22 07:59 PM
5

Because it's family law that's the way it's designed. If you settle alimony she can always come back and get cs. You need a better attorney
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/22 12:16 AM

They made it taxable on the payer (higher income) instead of the payee because the payer is in a higher tax bracket. Thus more tax income for the gov. This and the lower earner gets to stay on benefits without showing income.

Sounds like she is using these past "episodes" of drinking to guilt you when she really wants the marriage to end. Note: A woman will never accept fault and will always blame the man. You being the alcoholic absolves her guilt for destroying the marriage and sounds good to her friends and family. Start thinking for yourself.

I am sorry about your situation but know that it is common and you are not alone. Your son is young and easily manipulated by mom but take some comfort knowing when he matures he will see and try to reconnect with you. Alienating a man from friends and family is a keystone for an abusive woman who destroys their family. You need to try to forgive yourself and get back in the ring to continue fighting. For men their is very little support and the system is set that way.
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/22 11:49 AM

That is similar to what would happen, yes.
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/22 01:39 AM

You could try to get some evidence of the hookup and maybe get the bfs wife in on the fun. But you have to weigh the legal costs vs what you will pay her. Custody order signed by judge?
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/22 01:30 AM

She looking for alimony?
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/22 01:26 AM

Have you had a hearing for the PO yet? It doesn't just "lapse". A judge can believe her lies and restrict you from the children for a long time. Happens all the time to men in your position. What are the allegations? Dont just trust an attorney to handle it, you need to be involved in your defense.
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/22 01:09 PM
2

That's good. An attorney who plays fair all the time is no attorney IMO
/r/Divorce_Men06/02/22 08:05 PM
2

Damn. Good move on her part. Private service is the only way to go
/r/Divorce_Men06/02/22 07:46 PM
1

You go first. You set the tone of any hearing and trial. You put the other side on the defense with whatever you throw out.
/r/Divorce_Men06/02/22 05:29 PM
3

I don't understand. You paid 450/hr for her to tell you no about filing first for divorce? And you are telling other men that's ok? Filing first grants many advantages.
/r/Divorce_Men06/02/22 04:46 PM
5

For me, not a penny over what's fair. For the kids give it all because hell hath no fury to destroy children like a woman.

Trying to help those about die! We salute you

She gets an attorney and learns about cs, that 50/50 goes bye. Don't leave the house. Stay at home mom and 14 year marriage. Ouch
/r/Divorce_Men05/02/22 01:31 AM
1

Yet. True with the ages but what about support? Any attorneys yet.
/r/Divorce_Men05/02/22 12:26 AM
2

Oh the early phase. Has a judge signed off on this 50/50? Until then, you stay put.

It's crazy how men are expected to keep grinding at work knowing that 60% will be taken from every hour. And oh yeah this year's commission doesn't count, we will go off the previous years. Especially dealing with a nasty ex wife and attorneys milking the other 30%. If you live with her still keep your recorder on.
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/22 11:04 PM

Yes. Its called r-she gets everything she wants and you keep your mouth shut only to say hello to the parade of men in and out of the home.

Divide by 2. You can try to not remember the old 401s or accounts but risky. Maybe keep some of what before you married but the attorneys will get it. House is 1/2 regardless.
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/22 10:54 PM

Very rational thoughts on selling the house. Unfortunately all it takes is one side to be unreasonable to inflict the pain in family law, give you a hint, it's usually not a man. You will get no "deductions" on anything for the house and with a 20+ year marriage in CA I hope your incomes are comparable.

The police when she calls for false DV. It's what's encouraged now.

Sounds too easy until you get frog marched to the curb. I am sure the wifey will have no problema being recorded either.

No kids. Split it all by 2. Move on. Hire an attorney, spend 5-10k and move on.

No and No.

The mediator will lean on the weaker party and get them to settle. It's their job. Be vigilant in detecting your attorney capitulating with the mediator and her attorney. You need a trial date to really have mediation be successful if you just wasted 6 hours

Like seeing the C&C list. More men should know about it.
/r/Divorce_Men13/01/22 03:02 AM

How's she get alone with step kids father? What you help them do to other dad they will do to you. Filing first sets the tone and gives the upper hand. You won't get custody of the young kids but fight for you life for 50/50. Don't leave the house or you will be toast. Look at the C&C list homeboy above posted. Sorry it's happening to you.
