I think they do. Last company I worked at if I remember correctly you'd get 3 warnings, a disciplinary, 3 more warnings, another disciplinary, and then another disciplinary before they'd condiser sacking you. And yeah everything had to be documented

It seems a lot of companies in the UK are too scared to fire people. A guy I used to work with would routinely tell people to fuck off, would refuse to do any work, not turn up, and a bunch of other awful shit. He worked there for 35 years and had apparently always been like it and the managers just ignored it until he retired.
