I look forward to participating in this. I've been doing too much lurking and not enough application.

I am curious to know if it helped your symptoms.

I don't know how financially strained you are at the moment, but you might want to look into it. If you can find a kettlebell that is at or less than $1/pound, it would probably be worth it. You can probably start with a 25 pound kettlebell, so if you can that at $30 or less, you might want to consider it.

Yes. No one from NE US goes running.

Check out r/bodyweightfitness I would also recommend walking/running, but since you said you're located in NE US, it'd be too cold to go outside. I recently spent some money on some lifting equipment. I would highly recommend it. I have been having an awesome time lifting in my backyard.

Ask them what their goals are. If their goal is to lose weight / get cut, cardio is fine. If their goal is to put on some muscle or gain some strength, try explaining how stronglifts will help with that. If explaining how stronglifts will benefit them, but they still refuse, suck it up and start doing it by yourself. When they start seeing your progress maybe they'll want to join you.

Thanks for the comment. I am still in the loser mindset you mentioned, but I am currently working on changing it to be a winner mindset. I always thought I lacked motivation, but I have recently discovered it wasn't motivation but discipline.

Good post. I have the same problem with Evan. My ego gets in the way of me trying to improve myself because of the thought of failure. Trying to improve but I'll take it one step at a time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
