wow thanks for all that advice man...seems like i've been going easy on myself, cause i've been doing lighter weights with more reps (i thought that was the key to gaining strength). I will start to push myself more. Luckily I actually have been doing all the exercises (except standing overhead press) that you listed, just at a much lower weight than i should be. I'm gonna kick the shit out of myself for the next 2 years and aim to be a totally different person for my 5 year reunion, I cant wait…

as far as specific goals...the only one i really have is to be able to consistently lift my own body weight. But i suppose getting to 200 LBS would be fantastic. I'm really trying to pack on pounds, but I have a hard time gaining weight. I usually have 3-4 eggs (scrambled or if im feeling fancy, a nice cheddar cheese omelette), a protein shake and a bagel for breakfast, a deli-meat sandwich (usually turkey) and a glass of 2% milk for lunch, salted assorted nuts for snacks and pasta w/ meat sauce…

that's crazy man, i don't know if my genetics will allow me to get THAT huge...my entire family is on the long/ lanky side. i just started attempting to get in shape ~6 months ago (bought myself a bench, an olympic bar and an assortment of free weights for my 20th birthday). i weigh 165 lbs and i can definitely feel improvements. my goal starting out was to be able to bench my weight, right now im doing 3 sets of 8 reps @ 150 lbs on chest day...i've been told that it takes a while to get anywher…

like he said, just cut down on the reps if you're new to working out. 50 fucking deadlifts at that weight would kill someone who hasn't been training for a while lol

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
