That's what I've been saying all along - if a submission doesn't portray women in a bad light then it's not getting upvotes. The only point of this subreddit seems to be portraying women as the enemy of men. /metoomoment

I guess this post doesn't deserve 800 upvotes because the rapist is not a woman. It looks like most people on this sub think (at least subconsciously) that the rape victim doesn't have the same rights if they aren't raped by a woman. The proof is in the upvote? Just a thought.
/r/MensRights09/07/14 02:33 PM

I'm sure you have a logical argument hidden in your sentences there. Must be my being retarded that precludes me from seeing it.

This shows pretty thoroughly how soldiers have the worst part of wars. I was writing primarily with US soldiers in mind, because they are the brunt of forces in war theatres like Afghanistan. Sure, I agree there are various motivations for volunteering, and whatever the reasons, be it to defend your country, social pressure or poverty, they don't diminish the suffering of the soldiers. Not for a moment did I say "they volunteered, so they're ok". That being said, rape victims have it worse. Bein…

Now you're out to prove the statement "PTSD is worse than death"?
/r/MensRights29/06/14 06:21 PM

While both sentences are true it doesn't prove that death is worse than rape, unless you were trying to say that any kind of life is better than death, an idea that so many people committing suicide don't agree with.
/r/MensRights29/06/14 05:50 PM

accept that men endure all the suffering that civilians do I'll do no such thing. What you said may only apply to conscripts, not volunteer soldiers, and we could debate what is worse. I explained my point of view here. Long story short, it's hard to compare the suffering of a soldier who had the choice between joining the military and remaining a civilian, with the suffering of rape victims who never had any choice. Also you can probably accept that "mutilation, prisoner camps, torture, loss of…

Death unequivocally is worse than rape, you motherfucking moron. Objectively speaking, if you're dead then as far as we know you don't feel anything anymore. I don't remember which philosopher/writer said that you being dead is something that others are left to worry with rather than yourself. So if you view life as a sum of positive/negative experiences it can be conceived that rape is worse than death because it doesn't decrease your overall happiness "score". Also, as I mentioned in another p…

You're making a rather tired argument, here. As opposed to maintaining that "death is worse than rape"? How would one know, exactly? What if we compared it to the sentence "death is better than a life of continuous suffering"? Some people get over rape harder than others. Can I make a case for the idea that life is not valid if it is made only of suffering (assuming the one living that life thinks the same)?
/r/MensRights29/06/14 04:38 PM

Which, of course, you haven't. That was my point. It's absurd to proclaim that "death is worse than rape", for some people it's the other way around. So I was right and got the downvotes, and the dumbass who was wrong got the upvotes. That says something about the intelligence of this sub. but it's safe to assume most humans who perish due to war would likely have kept on living given the choice. They weren't given a choice though. The context here is soldiers. As I said, US doesn't do conscript…
/r/MensRights29/06/14 04:23 PM

Thanks, you just proved my point. To some people death is preferable to seeing their buddies blasted to bits. The same goes with rape. Upvote to you.

Yeah, not so vicious as long as you don't completely disagree with what the majority says. Try being a man with a contrary opinion in this sub, see what happens. Oh the irony, a man complaining to a woman about the treatment he gets in a forum that's supposed to be about his rights. I guess I don't have the right to call bullshit. And the fact that there are worse subs than /r/MensRights doesn't negate that this is a shitty sub, as I elaborated on here.
/r/MensRights29/06/14 03:21 PM

The level of support is different because the ratio of the cases is different. If the majority of rapes were woman offender - male victim then the situation would be reversed. I'm not saying it's right, but it's a side-effect of a history of male raping women. Society goes forward by solving the biggest problems first; you clean the water supply first, install the fiber-optic later; cure aids before a rare genetic disease. At the moment women are more statistically more prone to being raped than…
/r/MensRights29/06/14 03:08 PM

I'll also assume that those who have died in war experienced no further suffering in life, well, because of the lack of life. It's not your place to judge which is worse. People committing suicide after being raped clearly preferred death to continuing life in those circumstances; who are you to say they were wrong? Tetraplegic people can still experience joy in life, and yet a lot of them prefer euthanasia; who are you to tell them they are better off this way than being dead? Sex slaves, or an…
/r/MensRights29/06/14 02:49 PM

It's obvious neither is good but the taliban here proclaimed death is worse, which I pointed out isn't the case for the rape victims (both male and female) who committed suicide. And Allah forbid I should disagree with their holy opinion, lest I want to be down-voted to hell. Same goes for someone pointing out that throughout history up to this very moment the majority of rapes have been inflicted by men; oh no, we don't want to hear it, we just want to focus on the rape cases where women are th…
/r/MensRights29/06/14 02:21 PM

How many "murder victims" told you they'd rather be raped instead of being dead? I guess that's a matter of personal preference. Also, if I recall correctly USA doesn't do conscription, so soldiers aren't really "murder victims", they're just dead soldiers. That aside, let me ask you something. A person chooses military knowing the risk of being killed. A person is raped but alive. Which would you rather be?
/r/MensRights29/06/14 02:01 PM

Death is worse than rape. Citation needed, you cunt. Tell that to the countless people who committed suicide after being raped.
/r/MensRights29/06/14 01:00 PM

Don't preach me about ignorance when you can't even read a simple sentence and make logical connections. I stated "in society" because that's what says on the right side of this particular sub-reddit. Doesn't get more obvious than that. More men are raped in prison than women in the entire general population. So your point is? I never said men are not subject to rape. From what I read both men and women are raped in prison. When a male victim of this crime is put next to a female victim, of cour…

Where are you 'RAPE IS A WIMMINS ISSUE! DA MENZ DON GIT TA HAVE IT!' people coming from? I never said such a thing. Explanation.

You got it all wrong. It's not my desire to smear rape victims, it just seems to me that this article doesn't exactly fit into this subreddit. Sexual violence (in general) is under-reported, so you can't say men are disadvantaged by society (in comparison to women, obviously). Also, men are not subject to human trafficking (related to sexual abuse) so that's another point where women have it worse. So overall this doesn't seem (to me, at least) an article appropriate for this subreddit.

/MensRights - The Men's Rights subreddit is a place for people who believe that men are currently being disadvantaged by society. Ironically, in this case the people doing the raping are still men.

Here's the rule of thumb, boys and girls - if you want to do something but you feel the need to ask reddit if it's a good idea then it probably isn't.

I say being committed to a relationship because no one else finds you attractive is not a virtue. Ok, but then other people finding you attractive and you being committed is a virtue. This guy seems to lack that one, but I don't pity him. When he's having one night stands up to the point where he can't bring himself to be aroused anymore I think it sure as hell qualifies as a vice.

Fuck that, what do you care? He obviously has too many women to handle; let other people have a chance at a relationship (as opposed to being "forever alone"). Nice guys sometimes have trouble finding girls but when they do, they're usually 100% committed to a monogamous relationship; this guy obviously isn't that type. Boo hoo... screw him (metaphorically).
