Sarkeesian's whole video is based around the Damsel in Distress being a recurring idea in games. She cites examples from throughout gaming's history. If a zelda game didn't have link as the main character, and his goal was not rescuing the princess / defeating ganandorf then it isn't a zelda. Does Majora's Mask not count as a Zelda game?
