Why not? I like to express love to my partner via sex and I like love expressed to me via sex... that's what makes it special

then why even use it as a comparison sex/sexual acts are a proxy for romantic effort and interest just like gifts are a proxy for romantic effort and interest, that's why they are constantly brought up as a different yet comparable thing there are many men who do see paying for things as paying for access to a woman's body yes and there are many women who see as giving access to their body as a way for men to pay for things? but that doesn't mean all women think like that and that's kinda not th…

i understand that (in theory) it's just a comparison of romantic effort/interest. but the idea that "bestowing" sex and sexual acts are in the same realm as buying someone a gift? You just answered your own argument. We're NOT equating paying for things with access to someone's body, the gift is not the point! PS- I fully agree with /u/ValeWho you cannot take one person's romantic standards and apply them to other people.

I would rather want to die than actually die a very slow torturous death.

Forget about women.... I'm saying that FOR ME I would prefer guaranteed getting raped by the man, this is my opinion just like you have your opinion. So how can I "pretend" I don't get why women would prefer the bear when I'm saying I would not prefer the bear if it was me?

Aren't you doing the same? This is opinion vs opinion

This theoretical isn't about your chances of a bear encounter (which are rare). Of course the chance of you encountering a polar bear is super low. This theoretical assumes you're just put into the wild with a bear. I don't think women should be forced to choose anything... but to me the answer is obvious and you're just pissed off because to you the answer is obvious but in the other direction.

I've never been raped and I've also never been mauled to death by a bear. That being said I would imagine the pain of getting your limbs chewed and ripped off would be way worse and on top of that you don't get the ability to continue living life. Personally if I had to choose between ME getting raped vs a bear attack I would choose the first. EDIT: unless it was an American black bear then I'd choose the black bear

Black bears rarely attack. Brown bears and polar bears are territorial.

I think it can be broken down into two main points: Women's high level of fear about men in general. Which is a valid point and as men we should listen to their concerns and try to understand them. Women's misunderstanding about what it really means to encounter a bear in the wild... Not all women just the ones who would pick the bear. If you pick the bear you are straight up picking a very high percentage chance (mid double digits) of getting mauled to death vs a very low percentage chance of g…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
