On the positive side, men that have developed those kind of responses to tense situations have been prized in society since pre history. Society needs people that aren't ruled by their emotions in order to have a safe ,orderly civilization. Things fall apart when our anxieties overcome us.

Interesting, I never had a male teacher until the 9th grade.

I think it is because MRA type individuals aren't represented in teaching at nearly any level, from Early Childhood Education to University. If people aren't going to be socialized to be friendly to MRA ideals at a young age than the battle will always be uphill.

My feelings of inadequacy come from not living up to my own standards. People that are anti male and anti white (there is a link between them I've found) aren't worth listening too. I find that what is expected of "allies" in those circles is to be someone that takes all the abuse and that should never stand up for themselves because of privilege or "white fragility". It is an abusive relationship and it sickens me to watch it happen to people. Those people use oppression as social currency, not…

Difficult to say since the incidents aren't usually reported to law enforcement.

Here in Canada the only time I've been barred entry from clubs is because of dress code violations.

I don't have a problem with preventing rape and assault. Why shouldn't I? If there are measures that can be taken to protect patrons why shouldn't they be taken?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/10/21 03:58 PM

Have you got a source for that? Why would club owners turn away customers like that?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates29/10/21 03:56 PM

Why would you create BS jobs and automate "real" ones

I would be infuriated if I had to carry extra gear because someone who never had any business doing this job was my coworker.

They aren't being turned away because they are women though. If they can't hit physical or psychological baselines why add redundant positions to accommodate them? It's like me crying about not being a Toronto Blue Jay and insisting that MLB create a new baseball position to allow me to be a member of the team.

It still isn't a reason to grant them clerical jobs simply because of their sex.

There are plenty of American conservative women out there that vote and that support anti abortion platforms.

You guys have options other than Democrats or Republicans. What would self disenfranchisement bring you? Why would you coalesce around legal and political institutions without changing culture and laws? What would be the point of lobbying elected officials unless it was to change laws? I would also add that MRA types need to coalesce in educational institutions as well if they wish to change the culture. Schools socialize the young. Many feminists became teachers for a reason.

Out of curiosity, what field do you work in?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/10/21 04:51 PM

No. I think it's because I realized pretty early on in life that people who want to make me hate myself for immutable characteristics and events that I had nothing to do with are people that want to hurt me. I've also always considered equality of opportunity to be the real end goal of social justice, not equality of outcome.

"It's important for every movement to have an extremist element, to stand on the front lines and take the heat.". I disagree, the attacks in Toronto, Plymouth and Isla Vista made it much easier to justify banning incel or MRA forums.

Have you ever considered that the hostility that developed was the intended response by those alt right people? That they wanted to mold the behavior of trans people in such a way that they would come off as hostile to any questions whatsoever?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates15/10/21 04:58 PM

Bullshit, you are violating the other person's consent. A person's trauma doesn't give them the right to circumvent boundaries like that.

The science is set on that or is it just a possibility based on some promising studies? You have no business being put out by people questioning bold claims like that.

Nobody made them remove it though. I'd argue they did it to draw attention to "Community" being available on the platform. There are various ways to manufacture outrage to draw attention to your content and they succeeded in both cases.

That's the problem with this thread. I'm not seeing how the OP is acting with these women or seeing how these women are interacting with OP. Women can be paranoid beyond reason just like men can appear threatening while being oblivious to it.

I've heard the same kind of things about "Sticks and Stones" and found the controversy to be manufactured. It was a great special and I will probably watch" The Closer" too.

Being cautious doesn't mean having a deathly fear of someone though. There are anti theft measures employed in stores that have thriving businesses.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates15/10/21 12:13 PM

Here is the thing though, if they know nothing about you why wouldn't they act cautiously? Second of all, "cold calling" for dates is way less effective then engaging in person and gauging interest in person. Second, I would be really interested to see how you approach women if you get the kind of rejection you claim? Is it the type of rejection you receive or is it the frequency, no matter gently the refuse you?

The fight for the rights of workers would have to be it. The fact that it isn't restricted to males is precisely why I think it is the best example.

When I was 15 I got in a situation where consent was kind of retroactively denied but thankfully no legal action was undertaken. It was much more a case of a girl caving into her friend group to reject me after making out with me at a movie. I acted like I didn't care about what they were saying but inside I was all mixed up and I avoided girls for a long time. It took years before I could sort myself out. You are right to distrust their advocacy, it is BS. Unfortunately, I can't think of any left wing commentators that aren't willing to throw men away. Can you?

I don't know why you got downvoted instead of answered ?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/10/21 02:13 AM

Yes. The mainstream left will never advocate for men nowadays, it has however become something only well known conservative or right leaning commentators tend to do. Guilt by association I suppose.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates13/10/21 11:30 PM

Definitely agree with that. If I hadn't joined a trade union in my 20's I'm pretty sure I would have been a right winger.

You haven't noticed a worrying amount of white Gen Z males adopting a position of constantly apologizing for their gender-race.

It exists to cause division within the working class. If the men and women of the working class are fighting each other they won't be fighting the ownership class. That's all it ever needed to be.

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates11/10/21 07:28 PM

As depressing as this is, I actually have hope for the future when it comes to men being open about their mental health struggles. I'm thinking of the positive response guys like Carey Price and Jonathan Drouin received when they opened up about their struggles. I can envison a future where this girl's opinion becomes more and more unpopular.

Ok, I got you. Unfortunately, since misandrists hate you they will use accusations of toxic masculinity or reproach you as not fulfilling male roles depending on the situation to cause you the most harm.

If the female of the species were as good at violence as men then they would have absolutely committed atrocities like men have. If the future he wants came to pass does he actually think a women only society wouldn't have militaries or use violence as a political tool? Is it naivety on his part to attribute women with only the most selfless of motivations or is he one of those weird man hating men I see more and more of these days?

Have you tried a duty roster or something like it in the past? Cause it kind of sounds like she doesn't want to pull her weight or work on a solution like the housekeeper. Am I reading this wrong? Also, do these division of labour disputes begin as arguments or discussions? Also, I like what boundarychimps mentioned about piles of clutter not being toddler safe

I'm contrasting that with the old HBO show OZ. Almost every single mostly male inmate there was there for good reason according to the backstory, except for Vern Schillinger oddly.

I've never been a betting man but I follow a few hockey and baseball YouTube channels. I always assumed that was why I kept getting those kind of ads.

All you are telling about her is that she posts misandry, gets upset at compliments and throws up red flags during in person interactions. This isn't holding a person up to a standard of perfection, it's wondering why you should even bother being around some person who is entirely negative according to what you told me. Can you point to some of her good points? Can you even think of any?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates07/10/21 03:51 PM

You didn't answer my question. I didn't tell you to unfriend this person, I asked what her good qualities are.

The taboos against touching aren't necessarily a problem in my opinion. I have serious concerns regarding consent between people in what you are discussing.

Ban neither.....you want to lock people up for thoughtcrime? Hate is too subjective a concept to be effectively be prevented and punished by criminal law. You should be happy our current criminal hate speech law is so rarely used. Why are you so eager to throw people in prison or fined till they are living out of garbage cans?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates06/10/21 04:17 AM

So just make the UK a giant prison. Sounds awesome.
