Hi, thanks a lot for taking the time to answer back. I am familiar with the difference between the two communities! I will take into consideration those differences when doing the analysis. I post about the two communities in the same message because I think that some people might go from one to the other, and consider both pills. Those "movements" across the communities are of interest to my study as well!

Hi, thanks for your question. The aim of the research is to truly get people's experiences and their own point of view. I use interviews to gather data as I think that it's during a real discussion with someone that I can get the most accurate information about their perspective. I know! Though the first goal for the phd is the thesis, so it happens quite often that once the thesis is submitted the students do not turn them into a research paper... It also takes a few years before finishing and time for publication can be extremely long for social sciences. As far as I'm concerned I'd like to publish my results, but that won't happen immediately tbh

I'm from the university of Montreal. I can understand your concerns, it is a sensitive and politically charged topic. I do prefer giving those kind of explanation on private conversations as it allows me to answer specific questions or concerns. What I can say is that the goal of the research is to listen, as much as I can, to people's perspectives. As researchers, when starting a study, we like to avoid any preconceptions about the world and judgments on people's opinions. Studying what I, as a researcher, perceive as hate would result in a biased research. Getting people's experiences about the world is a more suitable way to understand a phenomenon. At least it's how I see it and how I try to approach my research subject. I totally understand why you would see the need to study systemic hate though, it's not just the goal here

Hi, what I can tell is that I hope the results will help to better understand men's communities by adding individual's perspectives to the current research. I hope that learning more about personal stories could highlight what needs are not met and what can be done more generally for men and women's rights in our society. Thank you for your answer and feedback! I know 1 hour 30mn is a big investment of time for most people, but unfortunately I cannot offer any incentive for the interviews... I state 1 hour and 30mn to give a broad idea of how long it can take, but the interview can definitely be shorter.
