You are correct that nobody goes to jail for a civil suit but under this hypothetical new law they would go to jail if they lost their case. Big companies/rich people with good lawyers. Would never be able to be sued for anything "without fear of going to jail if you lose" . I personally would never sue somebody with a better lawyer not worth the risk. If you lose the case, wouldnt that be grounds for a false accusation? Contrary to what you believe the guilty party doesn't always lose in court.

People are calling for anybody who makes false accusations to go to jail. Not exactly a lawyer but i would think losing a trail would be grounds for "false accusations" My main point is this is a slippery slope punishments for false allegations and the ability to countersue already exist. Why not try to improve existing rules, rather then create new rules that could have unintended consequences.

Idk just seems like everyone is making this harder then it needs to be "beyond a reasonable doubt" is pretty subjective they would really have to fleshout the wording of this law "not an easy task". Personally if these laws were put in place I wouldn't ever sue somebody with a better lawyer then me, the risk of going to prison would be too high. Punishments for false allegations already exist and countersueing somebody is always an option. Just seems this type of law would have unintended conseq…

Hey as long as you got even 1 friend thats all you need. As they say its dangerous to go alone. My advice would be to try to make 1 friend IRL. If you cant its not the end of the world but it helps, if you are genuinely a good person its bound to happen.
