Well I'll keep reaping the benefits of my privilege and continue to be all the better for it. If I ever get harassed during a run I'll let you say, "I told you so." I've been frequenting my local running trail for several years now and have yet to be bothered by anyone so I guess it should be happening any day now if the odds are against me like you say. My goal is the same as yours I hope, to participate in and create an environment where people can feel safe, valued, and free to live their liv…

Lol, hardly. What cult am I part of? I'm a registered independent so what ammunition do you have for your argument? Any prejudice you have about mormons is just that; prejudice. Again, you don't know me as an individual so anything you say has little to no merit. You're attempting to be mean and, well, that'll never work to bring me down so...let's at least distill our argument to some fundamental points. What is the main idea of your argument? What point do you wish to make about women feeling …

Yessss, I get what you're saying, and it is beyond words that we can use to say... No judging, no forcing another person to fit my own prejudice and preconceptions. Let us just live freely to be ourselves and fulfill our individual purposes...and for some, it is being a burden. For others it is being productive, constructive...pleasant! There is enough suffering in the world and the least I can do is be a catalyst for others feeling a "relief of tension". ☺️

"Yes, use your anger. It gives you focus. It gives you strength." Don't mind me for quoting Star Wars but it suits the situation. Like I said, I'm happy enough with myself that you couldn't say anything to hurt me. But clearly you need to express your frustrations in this way so...keep at it, man. Say what you need to say. I'm glad you mention cult though. I was raised Mormon, but aren't now, but I'm as spiritual and fulfilled as I ever have been, so it is interesting to think about. I havent sa…

If that makes you feel better then sure we can settle on that. The fact that we spent this much time, energy, and attention talking about a random, esoteric topic showed we could easily be friends more than any other random folks so I gotta say it has been fun. Words are wind and what is important is how we treat other people. I treat others with respect and cheerfulness and that's all I've attempted to communicate with you. And, for what it's worth, I showed our conversation with a few of my fe…

You gave up on answering my questions and addressing my argument, good man. So when I attack your ego, as fragile as it is, you THEN retaliate. Bro, my guy, you'll never be able to hurt my feelings so you can attack me as you have with every comment; an ad hominem attack which is a logical fallacy....you see, it only undercuts your intelligence. That being said, I only wish to help others and build them up to become the best versions of themselves that they envision. I only hope that for you too…

I'm concerned about those upvotes too. I try to avoid assuming thing about people I only know on the surface...but it makes me wonder how successful these guys' relationships are with women...like, remove sex from the equation and just treat people like equals. You'll be surprised how far that gets you. But then again these guys have issues and traits which make them unattractive, and you have to change yourself to become more amiable and desirable...but some are unwilling to do it and then they…

raises an eyebrow inquisitively It is okay to admit defeat in an intellectual argument if you can't keep up. Best wishes, dude!

Haha hardly. Let me go back to my first point about how my local public running/walking/biking trail has certain areas where multiple people have reported being assaulted by another. Would you be comfortable with your daughter or sister or significant other going there? Alone? Without protection like mace spray or a dog? These are very real concerns that my female friends have. I don't have to worry because I'm a male and for whatever reason potential harassers aren't interested in me. That's my…

Human beings are much more complicated and nuanced and subject to change than any either/or dichotomy you try to fit them to. So I dunno what game you're trying to play unless you're just mad that I'm not surrendering myself to your "rules". How about this? Our moods and behaviors can fluctuate and change depending on the circumstances. When people are in potentially dangerous circumstances they will have their guard up and strangers will be viewed with suspicion. When people are in comfortable …

Yours is certainly an attractive attitude! Neither of us is meaning to go to extremes nor make hasty generalizations to prove our point of view so reign it in, man. It's all a matter of mutual respect and understanding, that's how relationships work. I dunno what kind of men and women you're hanging out or associating with but most people I know are much more open and willing to put forth the effort to effectively communicate. I get along with most everyone I meet and a big part of it is because…

I'm not saying anyone is ever justified to offensively attack anyone. It is absolutely understandable for women to view men with suspicion and have their guard up, especially when they are in vulnerable situations. That is common sense. I have my own guard up when I'm out alone at night. Especially when the statistics clearly show that suspicion is warranted. Just as men oftentimes have their guards up against other men or otherwise see them as competition, a threat, so too do women and they des…

I'm an endurance runner and I'll often run on a public walking/biking trail by my apartment. Certain parts have had many reports of women being groped, followed, and even assaulted by men. My girlfriend is uncomfortable going on the trail alone and I wouldn't want her to go alone either. Most women I see who are alone either have a dog or a bike or otherwise must have their guard up. It is my priviledge that I don't have to worry as much about being harassed. A friend of mine was just walking al…
