It's not their body and they might be the parents of the child but they don't own him and they shouldn't be able to make such large decisions for the child while they can't consent and while there is no reason to do it. I could understand them doing it if the child has a medical condition where he needs to get circumcised and they talked to a doctor about it but the cases where that is the reason is vastly in the minority.
