It's more than a debate team.hey were alumni from all over the US who had competed in a debate league that most people would consider the hardest in the world. That's what makes this whole thing so much bullshit. This pervasive ideology is deeply ingrained in the debate community, that rational discussion can't even be started on the subject.

It's a type of argument made in formal debate where a debater will 'critique' an existing assumption about the world, or impose an alternative value structure that the debate should operate under. I have no idea why it's spelled the way it is.

Maybe in debate, but in general academia men are underrepresented. Aside from that, if any judge who would vote down an argument just because they disagree with it is a bullshit judge.

I don't think we're going to end up writineg it. I believe in the argument, definitely, but this thread has gained too much exposure for me to feel comfortable having my boys run it. I may write a K on male disposibility though. We'll see.

I'm thinking that a decent plan would be to open violence shelters specifically for men. I wanted to see if anyone here knew what the numbers were in terms of violence shelters in these countries, which is why I posted in the first place. I've stuck my foot in my mouth. I didn't mean to make these comments the way that I did, and I am beyond embarrassed. I don't want to indoctrinate my students, I just want them to see that there are more arguments to the gender equality debate than just defaulting to feminism.

There's no way I can save face here. I wrote my thoughts in a poor way and now I'm sticking my foot in my mouth for it. I don't want to indoctrinate my students, I simply want them to know that feminism isn't the only school of thought on gender equality. They're really wanting to run kritikal arguments, but our circuit isn't very conducive to those kinds of argumentative methods. No, I didn't 'know what you meant'. You're saying that was the conclusion, but it's not, it's the intro for this arc of the comic. There's going to be more, and the first actual round of debate is going to be focused on the question as to whether or not feminism can solve for inequality for men as well as women. If you negate, then that's awesome, I personally side with the negative as well. But don't act as though this was a conclusion to the issue.

There is no conclusion to this comic. It's an intro into the next comic which will focus on whether or not feminism can affirm gender equality for men as well as women. Phrasing a debate topic like I did, as a resolution, is something commonly done in academic debate. So a resolution may be written as "Resolved: Blue is better than green" or "Resolved: The NFL should be disbanded". Will you explain your argument to me further? I didn't want to make an argument that sounded like a strawman, so that was what I wrote. While I have certainly heard feminists make arguments which claim dogmatically that men are never harmed by gender inequality, I have heard more agree that men are hurt by stereotypes as well.

They really don't discriminate against anyone, the application process is completely online. I worked there for three months this summer, Wal-Mart is a great place to work for either men or women.

No. The Men's Rights movement isn't about complaining because a woman doesn't to hear guys talking like they're 12, it's about defended the definition of rape which doesn't specify males as the perpetrator; it's about preventing non-medical circumcision; it's about defending the rights of single fathers; about improving the conditions for homeless men. You're just complaining about girls wanting to you to play nice.

I'm an LDer, and I've been researching this topic for NFL quals, so I have a few ideas. + the Affirmative doesn't have to prove that deliberate deadly force is the moat morally acceptable option, just that it is permissible. + Domestic violence = spousal abuse + Deadly force doesn't necessarily mean intent to kill, it means that the force has the potential to kill.
