Does your spouse have any issues with your libido or sex life? Have you shared this part of your history with her?

How does this affect you today? Has it changed the way you think or approach sex? I imagine it had a pretty big impact there. Sorry for what happened to you.

As a man in the south its worth pointing out that it's not just women who support these double standards, and they existed long before feminism. In fact in a lot of ways they caused feminism. Lots of male sub cultures really value men making a point of them selves being scary, dangerous, independent, strong, etc. They will go as far as to make a point that women are the opposite too. It's really a cultural problem with persisting double standards and sex roles

Weird interaction, but why keep hanging around these girls? You don't get anything out of proving a point to a girl. Just move on. Find a new anchor next time. It sounds like it was a poorly thought out shit test on her behalf.

I have to agree with this. I knew someone with trauma induced bpd and ptsd. you can probably go out and be successful in pickup. You will be successful at a lot of things. But you at just be ignoring the elephant in the room.

My recommendation is to find a wing, someone who is genuinely interested in changing their propensity to meet people ( doesn't have to be for lays even). It helps to speak the same language but in general if the person is or wants to be more gregarious that is a great start. Going out alone can be very successful (arguably more successful) but in my limited experience, having someone else there really helps get the ball rolling. It's the same principal as how people are more successful when they…

can we just not call this guy a wing, everything he did was as extremely anti-wing as it gets.

One of the greatest pieces of life advice I have received came from my mother when I was young. It applies to pickup as well as anything else. "If you wouldn't want it to be published in the newspaper, don't do it" More than about pickup this is about professionalism. Ask yourself if you would want this to be in the newspaper. That is the answer to your question.

Good read, but not advice as much as mantra. He says himself that he had this mental shift and abandoned "I hope she likes me" only when he was already banging tons of hot girls regularly. I think most of us have experienced both of these frames, the "does she like me" vs "do I like her". In fact, you may have experienced a shift with the same person when you start valuing them less or valuing yourself more. The real interesting application of this to me is when you apply it to both genders. Lik…

sure, if you google that you won't find anything because I just made the name up. It is an idea I heard here from another sedditor, if I find the post I will link it but I can't take credit for originating it. The fundamental idea is that you ask leading questions until she wants to give you her phone number ie (after building attraction/rapport/whatever you want to call it) You: OK I'm going to go meet some friends at Venue2 Her: Oh, alright You: I really enjoyed our conversation though we shou…

Really, I thought the exact opposite, It seemed like they were all gobbling it up, buthe lost a lot of attraction when he asked for the phone number. Once you are to that point just about anything can get the phone number, but in my experience the "socratic #close" gets the same result while maintaining more attraction and coming off as less invested in the outcome. Ask leading questions to get her to make it HER idea to give you her number

Yeah this is good advice Get pretty, sorry it's just how it works Go out with one friend Sit somewhere, next to each other looking out at the crowd like you are people watching Talk to your friend but avoid super intense conversations that may make it look like you are there only to discuss business with her or something Look around and make eye contact with people you are interested in. Profit

If you just find out by happenstance that he is lap interested in her then i would just make it clear you are too and may the best man win. If he was a good friend and you meet her at the same time the situation would be different

Nice work playing off the naked in front of the roommate scene Good story because it is a textbook field application of antislut defense and handling antislut defense.

Well it's obviously not because of anything you did. I'm going to assume she is crazy and also desperate for emotional validation. She probably really , really wants a ltr. Just keep that in mind

Ill just share another perspective on this which you may not like and may not apply to your situation but there aren't a lot of details here. I've been in a relationship where I had a job and the other person did not, and it was tough. Because my SO spent all day doing whatever random stuff she would do, when I would come home she would be completely focused on doing "us" things which I would often find exhausting because I had just finished working for like 12 hours or whatever. That said more …

I guess. I'm probably way too strict about this, or maybe its just my line of business. But if I am out at night and I see someone I know from work even if she's hot or is with ten HB10s, I'm saying hi and having a nice platonic conversation and moving on.

This post is patronizing because you are portraying the men here as being brainwashed and the women as being victims. This reddit exists because there is pent-up demand for intimacy and relationships because culture doesn't make it clear what is attractive to women.

Some people have success with this "be AMOG by embarrassing/putting down other males around you" thing but realize that it is at the least controversial. The core to a lot of pickup methodologies is to talk to everyone, be a social "butterfly" and be friendly. This goes contrary to that. It's also really hard to pull off without looking like a tryhard.

I agree he was being honest. Just take some time to be a little introspective about your own behavior if you are concerned about being scary and icy. When you are in a group of friends and you are approached by someone new, are you one of the first people to say hi and state your name? Do you share and build on stories with new people? does your body language communicate that they are welcome, or does it convey that you are closed off and would rather keep talking to someone else? These are thin…

Sure thats not a good thing to say but he clearly had built enough to recover from it. It was basically a shit test. But let me warn you as someone who has personal experience, I see a lot of red flags in the shit she said here and I would immediately throw away the idea of having a long term relationship with her if that's what you were interested in.
