I think you're half right. Men do want and need to feel useful and necessary, that they're providing a vital service that keeps the people around them happy and generally alive. Men have been doing that since humanities inception and we've gotten so good at it that we're no longer needed as a group. 200 years ago there were no grocery stores, and the idea of sitting at a desk sending emails and making excel spreadsheets for 8 hours so you could go to a store where food just magically appears in …

Women are not simply having sex on their own terms. A lot of sex is being had to win love, affection, and commitment by guys that then discard them as worn out whores.

If I found out she had a heavy BDSM relationship then I must peace. Or, if she used to basically be some guys on call sex doll. Once you get to a certain level of submissiveness with another guy it's just not going to work.

It is really nuts. For all of human history women were constrained by the fact that sex could have serious consequences all the way up to death (in childbirth). With birth control those constraints are gone and they are free to indulge in whatever or whoever they want. What we are seeing is completely unprecedented.

I really don't think he'd give a shit if she lost her virginity at 15 and did all kinds of kinky shit if it had been with him. It's not a chastity issue, it's a competitive thing.

I just exited a 4 year relationship. I'm 31. I'm excited, kind of, that I have another shot to get it right. I'm also fucking discouraged at having to do it all again. Not just find someone who's into me, but get to know each other, present my baggage, learn to cope with theirs, and just generally have to go through so much again. Thoughts?

It sounds like they'd already hooked up or she was thinking of hooking up and she was just using you as a soundboard for her thoughts. "I wouldn't like if my BF was too tall" was her way of expressing being worried it would be awkward when they kissed. Yeah though, very little consideration for the listener there.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
