That's not how insurance works. Beneficiaries supersede spouses and next of kin. Naming a beneficiary tells the insurance company exactly who you want the money from your life insurance to go to. While he probably didn't mean to leave his ex the money, there's no way of knowing if he left it that way on purpose or not.

It's typically called "sex" and in this case "sexual contact" when it's a woman, but in the case of a man it's called "rape", "sexual assault", or "molestation", so actually her pass is still kinda apparent.
